The upcoming episodes also have extended recaps so if your schedule permits it, I think alot of us would prefer a double episode a day, that way we are getting about 16-20 min equivalent of actual canon material. I also hope Toei’s pacing doesn't negatively impact your perception of this arc. In the manga, it is an incredibly dense storyline packed with heavy exposition and crucial lore. That is why many fans recommend reading the manga afterward to truly appreciate how Oda structured the narrative. Just something to keep in mind.

the episodes are covering about the same amount of content, just with recaps instead of padding, thats the way we see it and the discussions are about the same amount of content as well will be over soon if an ep is considerably thin, we may do a double, but if its half new and half old, thats basically the same as a regular one piece episode

Since the first One Piece movie you two watched wasn't considered one of the better ones, I'd love to see you give some of the stronger films a chance. I think there are much better One Piece movies out there that you might enjoy a lot more.

BOLDcast, yes and I think we can all agree that padding is not good. You've just equated padding to recaps. So if there is an option to watch the episodes without recaps, why not go for that option? It's OK to treat yourself sometimes🙏🏽 That's one ideal that helps me get through our often harsh reality anyways

I don’t think you can get this far into One Piece and need a refresher on Ace’s death or Koby 😭 even if you’re watching it weekly as it aired I genuinely dont think it’s possible

I think Sakazuki acting like a Yakuza boss was intentional from Oda. All the explosive artifice, tattoos, violence, it’s an ironic play at the supreme commander for the force of “good”.

I love how King Taco looks like Danny Trejo to the point that I'm sure that's who Oda based him on. But I'm also disappointed that the Lincoln guy is Ham Burger instead of Abraham Burger.

I'm fine with it either way. Up to the end of Dressrosa till now I've waited a long time for true peak to come back. I can wait a little longer. But I can understand most people's frustration. By the way, true peak doesn't mean perfect to me. I moreso mean the boldness that characterises Oda's best work e.g Skypeia, Fishman, Dressrosa. Playing it safe will never leave a lasting impact on me. It may be good, great even. But Oda's true peak is when he has a mission, and he's wiling to take risks, and not trying to please everyone. Life lessons, ideals, and thematics are his main drive in these cases, even over strict entertainment value

Its a 'valley of the end' scenario all over again. When the author is actually ready to provide a refresher when its pertinent to the story, it looses its appeal because you saw the flashback 100 times throughout the course of the series.
