Yeah this episode really shows that despite the fresh coat of paint, the bones are still unmistakably One Piece. Wano may have movie-quality animation, but it does not share their decent pacing

Yeah, the pacing for the first third to half of Wano can be rough at times. But, like you already said, the production still makes it more tolerable than similarly paced arcs/parts.

There's a couple of episodes coming very soon where they reuse animation frames to extend the fight in such an obvious way that it irritated me the last time I watched this arc. Thankfully it won't become a trend.

There's a couple of moments where there are infinite reaction shots in the first half, but through the arc they start doing this thing where they just add stuff that was offscreened in the manga and extend the fights instead. Just prepare for a gradual increase in quality until it starts exploding every episode.

So random Fun Fact Hawkins's triangle ''tattoos'' over his eyes aren't actually tattoos. They're 3 strands of very thick eyebrow hair. 😭I wish I was joking but Oda said so in an SBS and I always remember that detail for some reason and I gotta applaud the commitment to the bit.

I'd argue quite a bit of Wano is well paced. It's not like the majority of episodes are like this.

I wouldn't say its the first half that has bad pacing, just like the first couple of episodes.

100% there are still some poorly paced episodes but the majority of Wano is far better than the majority of Dressrosa for example
