Naruto ?? Ain’t this just stuff from Japan’s culture? 😆😭

Artemis

Wano is absolutely steeped in Japanese culture and well oda for sure is using the broader pop-culture tropes of Japanese ninja's, there was a clear indication after naruto ended, that he was providing a sendoff/homage to his mentor or friends masashi kishimoto's manga. Some examples, In the ZOA arc when Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Chopper first meet Raizo, they immediately geek out and demand he show them classic ninja skills, specifically asking him to perform a "Shadow Clone" technique (Bunshin no Jutsu) and summon a giant frog. Of course later on this extends into wano and also characteristics used by Shinobu (the female Kunoichi) and the Oniwabanshu are a mix of traditional ninja folklore and the Naruto series. The different clan members of the OniWabanshu like Hanzo who can make his body completely float and flat like a kite and Choko who relies on giant armor-plated shields mimic the specific clan-based specializations found in Naruto, such as the Akimichi or Aburame clans. Both Kishimoto and Eichiro Oda drew inspiration from historical ninja's but oda definitely hyper stylized these characters to be more like shonen villains. There is even other elements of one piece that feel like direct inspirations from idea's used in naruto that are not even related to ninja's, but those i won't talk about yet because they are a little further ahead in the story. So its a combination of both but if you look at the track record of the series, before naruto officially ended, there was definitely a lack of wanting to draw ninjas in one piece so i think personally that alot of it does extend to his influence and homage of his mentor's manga. I mean why not? We know they were nakama and best rivals and that they each drew one particular page that is a huge nod to the others manga, (Kishimoto with the straw hat and oda with the characters eating ramen) so it makes sense.

Naruto fans are the most delusional people you can find on internet

Artemis

I never said anything about naruto's fandom. I just mentioned that there is influence from one piece. I mean thats obvious, mangaka's get inspired by others works all the time and especially if there long time mentors. His latest interview with Gege Akutami you can say also helped in some way shape what the story is becoming now in the manga. Even though there is no explicit proof, there is still people that see the story's changes and wonder if this was all oda's writing or if in some way that interview, allowed oda to explore and express different idea's for the story.
