The dnd analogy is spot on, also just like a long dnd campaign, your group thought ahead and planed for you to ruin everything. In this one campaign I was in, I was playing this very simple minded Minotour Barbarian that liked to fight. After like the 3rd time of me ruining the stealth mission, the group decided to let me fight as a distraction to get to the enemy leader.
