Gen V season 2 or nah?

The Boys is back for season 4 and so is my boy Miles. After Gen V injected a fresh new energy into the franchise, are we taking a step backward into more of what we were losing interest in from season 3? Or will The Boys rise to the occasion and give us something really exciting?!

PS. Had tech issues while recording, so this is AI-enhanced backup audio.

Justin

yep it was a super obvious twist that pretty much everyone saw coming in my opinion they should have established him in the show before becca so that the first time you see him you dont instantly think hes imaginary as well;

Justin

also my opinion about gen v vs the boys is season 1 and 2 of the boys is better than genv season 1. but genv is better than season 3-4 of the boys. but also beyond that genv was consitantly good throughout the season where as the boys has higher peaks (homelander, butcher) and valleys(frenchie, starlight) like the most tense moment of genv was when homelander showed up in the finally.

M&M

At the end of Gen V, Cate and Sam aren't in the room because they freed all the experimented on kids from the woods and they all go around killing humans, which is why Homelander propped them up as the heroes who stopped the massacre and pinned the whole thing on the others, who are now imprisoned. Cate and Sam are so game to join Homelander and kill humans because Sam was tortured and experimented on all his life, and Cate's family hated and disowned her, the dean from Gen V manipulated her, and she saw what they were doing to the kids in the woods.

Kyle

If im Cate, with her life, i might join Homelander too. Cate also shut off Sams feelings.

Kyle

I know people have already said it probably, but realistically if this season had better writing, Homelander woulda had A train run Cate to the boys and made them all kill themselves.

VinnyAhhh

Oh no you didn't catch it! Webweaver's safe word was Zandeya because he's The Boys' version of Spider Man.......

VinnyAhhh

Oops on second watch it looks like you got it but Miles may not have — I focused too much on Miles saying "that's such a weird thing that doesn't even matter" and was waiting for someone to mention Tom Holland. To quote Webweaver: "AG, AG"

eric i just want you to know i am the human that that spyparty joke was for. Banana bread indeed.

sayer

cmoooon eric and miles. i cant imagine you guys not doing a prewatch

DUG

“Laddio get help boy” has been stuck in my head for 2 weeks 😭

sayer

you guys guessed he was an hallucination. i did not...

Jess

The twist for me would be if anyone didn't guess the 'twist'

Justin Todd

the twist was extremely obvious but i feel like it was meant as a shock for butcher and not for us, i thought it was cool that everyone was collectively sort of in on it (even the characters on the show to an extent) and we’re just waiting for butcher to realize, also so crushed that when firecracker says “on the outside looking in” in the end you didnt immediately burst into dear evan hansen

Toast Knight

I really didn't think Eric would explain the Banana Bread thing...and let that joke just be for that one person. Its me. I'm person.

Macauly Leiher

I didn’t think anything of Jeffery Dean Morgan being fake because they A played him up a lot in the promo and B he is a real character from the comics that is a real fuck who has sex with monkeys. Hughie has had only one on one scenes with his mom so it wasn’t that obvious with the one on one scenes. Idk I had fun with it it shook my night.

k8ie

lol i think miles just meant it was a weird place to put that joke as like the ending bit of the scene i think he fully got the reference lmao!

FlexLuthor22

My problem with the this season is that there is no clear goal for The Boys to accomplish. Everything feels like a side quest.

Rachel Brands

I feel like this season suffers from a common problem that penultimate seasons often have - all the really cool and/or important shit is being saved for the final season, so this season is just spinning its wheels. Which would explain why we're six episodes in and little to nothing has happened.

When Eric sang Party in Your Bedroom, it unlocked a DEEPLY buried memory of my obsession with Cash Cash in 2008.

carlitoast

i’m the second person that banana bread joke was for ✋

carlitoast

i need to know what show miles was talking about where the head explodes bc it’s gonna bother me so much. it sounds so familiar.
