Do you wanna play a drinking game?

In 2004, a little movie called Saw changed my damn life. Now 20 years later, Jake, Mike, & I are watching the original Saw series with live audiences across the country! We laughed, we cheered, we drank every time there was a crazy ass transition.

PS. We watched the unrated version!

quickest sawiftie reference at 6 mins in

Dystopian Wolf Studios

Yeah Eric, it seems like it's the rated version. Pretty much perfect sync about 4 minutes in it seems. Even the bit about the 3 names and Hoffman lined up. And the first trap, and window shadow etc etc

it's the unrated version! 95 mins vs like 92 or whatever. there's a specific scene toward the end that i call out as only being in the unrated version. i got mixed up writing unrated in the saw iv post description bc i was thinking of saw v

Dystopian Wolf Studios

I'm watching the rated version I'm at the 30 minute point and it's still like a perfect sync. It can't be the unrated 😓

Dystopian Wolf Studios

Saw movie, but they grabbed the wrong guy, and all the tapes are for someone else 💀

Dystopian Wolf Studios

They wake up. Look around and tear and see the tape recorder they press play and listen to everything and when it stops playing they just say "Who the fuck is Dave?" -title card-

okay so quick theory time— the thing you're talking about at the end about where Mallick says his dad got him off but he set fire to a building that had 8 people? it lines up perfectly with saw 2, but i think that's coincidence. the saw 2 house DOES get fixed up, and mark hoffman lives there for some fucking freakass reason, but the building that Mallick burned down is just... unrelated. but yes, the basement glass-coffin room connects to the hallway where the bathroom is. because for some reason all of that is under mark's house, which is also the nerve-gas house. why hoffman chose to live there is beyond me tbh. but i think there's no relation to Mallick's story, and the parallels are just messy lmao

also fandom DOES fully ship Mallick and Brit, so 100% agreed there. they're called pintshipping lol

I didn't think about this on my first watchthrough, but the more I dwell on it, isn't this movie what finally "breaks" Saw continuity and enables all the Jigsaw (2017) bullshit? In Saw (2004), Paul Leahy and Mark Wilson are shown as the first victims of Jigsaw, then Amanda, then Zep, Dr. Gordon, and Adam. But now, Hoffman is shown to have helped abduct Paul and I believe Mark Wilson as well? But for Hoffman's plan to work to frame Jigsaw, there would have had to be other Jigsaw murders before he kills Seth, so Jigsaw would have had to have been an active serial killer even before the traps we see in the first movie, right? Also, my memory of Jigsaw (2017) is fuzzy, but weren't the bodies of the original farm game still there ten years later, meaning the police never discovered that scene? So were there even more Jigsaw murders? Also, if that's the case, how the fuck is Hoffman able to create an exact replica of Billy for his video to Seth? Did he check a spare Billy out of the evidence locker for some reason he had to explain to his coworkers? It should've been like a shitty doll Hoffman threw together based on vague descriptions.
