Woof.

It's no secret that Zach and I did not care for the Jurassic World movies, especially after rewatching the original Jurassic Park trilogy recently and reaffirming our love for those. But since Jurassic World Rebirth seems to be its own standalone thing, we think it has the potential to be the best since the good old days!

Keyword: potential.

Easily the worst movie in the entire Jurassic Park franchise, Rebirth stars Scarlett Johansson for no reason, wastes Mahershala Ali's time more than Kevin Feige has, and features two subplots but zero main plot. Genuinely the only thing it has going for it is that they can't possibly make a direct sequel to it. Please.

PS. I mixed up my Ruperts.

Damn I feel bad for Zach (lol you too Eric). I always gotta watch the light leave his eyes upon realizing his favorite things like Jurassic Park, Goosebumps and Spy Kids are being washed down by this regurgitated bullshit. Infuriating. I feel your pain man.

I think the movie's slightly better than you think because you saw it at the drive-in and missed a lot of details but yeah, not my favorite. Not sure where I'd rank it. Maybe not last.

I decided to just listen to this one like it was a podcast cause I didn’t wanna pay to see this in theaters but I was curious to hear y’all’s opinions on it 😂

I just recently finished watching this, Eric and WOWWWWW ummm, this movie was...not good. The most exciting thing I remember from watching this in theaters (aside from the commentary track from you and Zach of course) was the teaser for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey which looks amazing. This movie was just....nothing. I would rather watch Fallen Kingdom again over this, in my opinion. LOL Also the ending fucking sucked. You and Zach's reaction to it was my reaction to it as well. LOL

Just got out of the theater and now I'm listening on the drive back. I feel like I'm on the same wavelength where I'm like "that was the 3rd or 4th best movie and that's all I needed."

Imagine how hard I laughed when the credits rolled and saw ScarJo’s character was in fact NOT named Carey

Been a longtime YouTube subscriber but officially subscribed to the Patreon for this movie specifically. I just knew I couldn’t do it alone!

I just found out that the boyfriend in this movie is Cam Cameron from The Summer I Turned Pretty (Belly’s first boyfriend) and holy shit he’s a grown ass man now lol

I guessed who was gonna live and who was gonna die and got them all right. Someone in my theater was yelling, way to go Duncan, at the end when he was alive. Kinda upset we didn't get a T-rex fight scene like every other movie with the iconic roar at the end.

Animania156667

I think the scene with the raft in the water and the T-rex's teeth on it was CGI. It didn't look practical

I kinda hated how almost all the dinosaurs were mutated. The scene at the end was supposed to be raptors, but they want to focus on new, experimental dinosaurs. There is a scene in the trailer where The Summer I Turned Pretty guy says, please tell me they are not raptors. And Fiyero says, they are raptors. I would have preferred the raptors. Like how they say at the beginning of the movie, people are finding dinosaurs boring so they started making new ones to get people interested again. That's pretty much how they think people feel about dinosaurs now. But that isn't ture, at least not for me. I much rather prefer regular dinosaurs than these mutant ones. The D-rex doesn't even look like a dinosaur.

Animania156667

It's too bad that now they introduced all these mutant dinosaurs they are going to be in future movies as well. I don't think we'll get another movie where it is just regular dinosaurs unless they restart the franchise.

Eric, I got bad news for you. A sequel to Jurassic World: Rebirth is reportedly in the works, with director Gareth Edwards in negotiations to return, aiming to bring back stars like Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, though an official announcement from Universal is pending, with hints suggesting the studio sees potential for more films despite Rebirth's more self-contained feel.
