Allison & I hit the drive-in to find out if this new entry would deliver some more delicious 90's cheese or if it would flop like a fish. PLOT (via Wiki & ChatGPT) On July 4, 2024, Ava Brucks (Chase Sui Wonders) returns to Southport, North Carolina, for her friend Danica Richards (Madelyn Cline)’s engagement party. Also present are Ava’s ex Milo Griffin (Jonah Hauer-King) and Danica’s fiancé Teddy Spencer (Tyriq Withers). They invite along Stevie Ward (Sarah Pidgeon), freshly out of rehab. Parked on a cliffside road, Teddy causes Sam Cooper’s car to swerve off the cliff. Ava wants to call the police, but Teddy forces silence, aided by his father Grant Spencer (Billy Campbell). One year later, Ava returns for Danica’s bridal shower. She reunites with Milo and Stevie and meets true crime podcaster Tyler Trevino (Gabbriette), who is investigating the 1997 murders by fisherman Ben Willis. At the party, Danica receives a note: “I know what you did last summer.” That night, Danica’s new fiancé Wyatt (Joshua Orpin) is murdered by a hook-wielding figure resembling Ben Willis. The friends dig deeper, but Tyler is killed by the Fisherman. Survivor Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) advises that the killer must be connected to Sam. At a town meeting, Julie’s ex Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) accuses Grant of a past cover-up. Meanwhile, Milo, Teddy, and Grant are all murdered one by one. Evidence eventually points to pastor Judah Gillespie (Austin Nichols), but police find him dead with a photo linking Sam to Stevie, exposing Stevie as the Fisherman. On Teddy’s yacht, Stevie reveals she loved Sam and seeks revenge for his death. She stabs Danica and throws her overboard, but Ray intervenes and shoots Stevie into the water. Back at his bar, Ava realizes Ray is Stevie’s accomplice—echoing Ben Willis’s legacy. After Ray attacks Ava and Julie, Ava kills him with a speargun. #iknowwhatyoudidlastsummer #jenniferlovehewitt #freddieprinzejr
