Fantastic Streets and Where to Fear Them

If it's spooky season, you know it's gotta be an RL Stine joint! Unfortunately, however, Fear Street: Prom Queen was released in May... but Zach & I didn't get a chance to watch it until October so we have righted that wrong. Not even 90 minutes long, this quick little treat of a movie is actually super fun and has more of that classic Goosebumps camp that we wanted in that shitty Disney+ series. Oh but they do say "fuck" and it's quite jarring!

It’s so bizarre that both the original trilogy and this film think “The rich, privileged assholes are the bad guys” is a great twist that no one could possibly see coming.

I was shocked to see how low this was on letterboxd I thought it was pretty decent

R.L Stine’s Pumpkinhead is based of his Haunting Hour story and has no relation to the other Pumpkinhead you guys were referring to. It’s actually quite fun cos it’s got that Goosebumps vibe! You guys should check it out! Also there are 3 more separate films of fear street currently in development!

I remember when this came out I was so excited. But in my opinion they fully marketed this as the same universe as the trilogy. So I went into it thinking it was going to be the same mood as the trilogy (which I loved) So I was disappointed at the time. But seeing it again it was more fun. I’d love for them to release more Fear Street movies for sure!!

Ryan Holmes

This was way worst than the other Fear Street movies

Nicholas Janzen

It came out in May because of the prom theme!!

Seconding Zach on Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon! Such a fun watch!!

i’m only 20 minutes in, but i’m surprised that neither of you mentioned that ariana greenblatt is from barbie. i feel like that’d be her biggest credit.

Hell yeah that was fun, perfect run time!

As a cheesy 80's slasher, this totally works. In the context of the trilogy, massive shitshow. Everything from script to editing you can tell is just massively different from that fantastic "modern" slasher trilogy.

It was a fun romp but my main issue is what it didn’t have much to do with fear street, that’s a pet peeve of mine (cloverfield series burned me with paradox) it could easily just be a standalone prom horror movie but aside from the random symbol from the trilogy in the blood at the end it really didn’t have anything to do with the universe

Yeah it's a little crazy this movie wasn't poppin online. It was very fun n kept to the violence of the fear street series. I loved heart eyes. Once again another movie that seemed to not get buzz.
