We're gonna have to look at that fucking eye for 8 episodes, huh?

Percy is back in season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and so are all of his friends who totally have names and we remember all of them but we don't have time to list them right now.

In the movies, Sea of Monsters is where everything fell apart for this franchise... but will this series break the curse? We're praying to the gods!

Twink death incarnate

I have a very stupid question and am definitely over thinking it but do we pause exactly when you say to or right at the cut in the edit?????

In the book and the show, the mist just exists. Mortals simply just don't see the magical stuff

Krista

Omg king tantilis is the principal in looking for Alaska!! Also I miss Cool Grover, I get why book readers were upset at the change but man he added a lot of energy and humor. Like even the characters that are supposed to be funny in the show aren’t doing it enough for me

Cam Silas

oh man yall gotta be nicer to tyson! he was horrid in the movie but the actual character is a fan favorite! and the actor is doing a great job

I'll list off some things to hopefully help catch you up or understand things because this show has a lot of lore drops and it can be a lot because it involves greek mythology. So first off, you did meet Hades last season - he's played by Jay Duplass! I know he didn't make it into your highlight video so that might be why you don't remember. Lance Reddick as Zeus is going to be replaced by Courtney B Vance. To catch you up, Camp Half-Blood is a summer camp, so Percy goes back to new york to go to school when summer is over. This year his mom was working at a homeless shelter and found tyson, who is essentially a homeless kid that she now kind of adopted. Sally is a mortal who can see through the mist so she can see that tyson is a cyclops. Tyson looks old but cyclops' have the mental brain of an 8 year old (in the book at least) so that's why he's really shy, kind of confused, and just a little silly. I hope you guys can separate him from the movie version of tyson because tyson is SUCH a beloved character. You guys also might've missed it but it's revealed in this episode that Poseidon is Tyson's biological father, which is a big deal and makes him and Percy officially half brothers, which Percy isn't super excited about. Grover for the past year has been searching for Pan, the god of the wild. He's been kidnapped by a giant cyclops named Polyphemus, who you'll obviously learn more about and is also in the movies. The whole bit about grover being in a wedding dress is also in the movies. Thalia is the girl in the tree, shes been a tree for like 7 years. She originally came to camp with a young Luke and a young Annabeth. They were being chased by monsters and she sacrificed her life to save them, and so zeus turned her into a tree so she wouldn't fully die. Luke in this episode is shown poisoning Thalia's tree, which is going to weaken the barrier of camp and so monsters will be able to get in and attack. The golden fleece is the only thing that can heal the tree (this was in the movie) and the fleece also happens to be where grover is - so that's where our season is going. Luke for the past year has been recruiting demigods for his army for Kronos, a titan who wants to destroy the gods and olympus. That was the group of kids you saw at the beginning following grover. Luke's army also wants the golden fleece because the golden fleece could bring kronos back to life (this was also in the movie, but they just sped run the kronos storyline at the end of the second movie which is why its bad). That's also why Luke poisoned thalia's tree, because he knows that will cause someone to have to go and quest for the fleece, which they can then steal for kronos. I really hope this helps because I loved your season 1 tracks, but you might not like this season if youre confused and I'd hate to see you dislike this season when it's definitely on track to be BETTER than season 1. Thankfully this show does love a good exposition dump so you should be able to catch one or two of them to help you along the way.

So about the commercial breaks I learned this last season, everywhere but the US this is a Hulu Original Show

OH ALSO this season will definitely feel more "magical" than season 1 because season 1 took us to locations in the regular world like St. Louis and Vegas, vs this one which will be in the "sea of monsters" pretty much the whole time. They got a lot more practical for season 2 as well, so building sets on a sound stage or on location filming instead of using a volume screen. At the end of track you said you think it looks worse than season 1 and I'm hoping that's just the settings of your tv because thats lowkey crazy LOL

I was really scared for how the one eye would look but I'm actually not minding it. also in teen drama land percy and annabeth are not together and weren't together in the first season

Cassidy Mayhew

pro tip: ignore everything that happened in the movies

LosArquitectos

Am I crazy that I feel like the kids are low key acting circles around the adults

Careful what you guys say about Tyson, he's a fan favorite. He was portrayed terribly in the film but so far I really like him in the show. He is supposed to be extremely young for a cyclops, which is why he might be acting childish, they toned it down a bit in the show, he felt like a toddler almost in the books, my guess is it would be far too jarring to see a grown man acting like that in the show. Also, you guys missed it but his backstory is that he was homeless and trying to survive in NY before Sally rescued him, that's he was scared of being alone at night, and the tramp stamps in his back are scars from monster attacks.

yall better change your tune on tyson soon, he’s just a baby!! like, literally, he’s a baby cyclops, which is why he’s clumsy and talks more simply. in the book we see more of him in school and bullies literally call him the r word because developmentally he is a baby but in the context of our world he resembles/behaves like someone with a developmental disability. it’s all very sad because percy is very embarrassed by him bc he brings his social status down (he’s also homeless and on scholarship in the book, they changed it so he’s living with percy and sally which i love) but percy also knows what it’s like to be bullied for a disability you can’t control so he’s very protective about him. and tyson is very eager to have friends and a brother while percy is embarrassed so it’s a very complex relationship. anyway i just wanted to give you more context on his character bc he’s actually very well loved in this fandom! obviously you guys are allowed to like/dislike whatever characters you want but i hope you take a chance on him bc he’s really a very good character!! if you can get past the weird cgi eye lmao

I immediately recognized Tantalus as Miranda’s coworker from station eleven !
