We're back in black (Mike)!

Now that Kevin & I are caught up on Andy Muschietti's IT movies, it's time to find out what the hell his little IT Welcome to Derry series is all about! What year does it take place? Is it full of more goofy CG monsters?? Is Pennywise even in this sh-

The old Mrs. Kersh actress lived just barely long enough to film this cameo. And Sophia Lillis wasn’t originally in it, but they decided it was missing a critical oomph factor so she was rushed in to do that one head turning shot. There still isn’t word on future seasons, but from all accounts the show definitely did well enough to justify them, and I dug the hell out of it so I dearly hope it happens.

I was on Twitter when this episode dropped and my feed was blowing up when the Richie connection was confirmed lol. And I say confirmed, not revealed, because I saw people guess that Marge was his mom as early as episode 2 😭

The hotel in the shining that inspired the book is in Colorado. It’s the Stanely in Estes Park and they capitalize a lot on the books success.

the opening of this episode is one of my fave bits of any horror media ever, like truly, his little song is so crazy and fun

I was heavvvvvy sobbing when Richie came out on the ice. I love that kid in this role. The shot of Pennywise jauntily skipping passed the adults when the military had them on the ground followed by Rich flipping him off running passed Pennywise laying on the ground was so satisfying

The Overlook Hotel is based on a real hotel in Estes Park, Colorado that Stephen King stayed at! It's called The Stanley Hotel. It's a super beautiful (very eerie) old hotel that you can stay at. They offer tours and have tons of The Shining stuff in the gift shop. https://www.stanleyhotel.com/

I wish I had gave this show a chance before the commentary but I had so much fun! The finale was great and it really did keep getting better as the episodes went on. I saw that they are adding writers from Dark too???… Bring on S2!
