Where in the world is Carmen Cuba?

To celebrate TEN YEARS since Stranger Things premiered, Miles & I decided to go back to where it all began and watch the first season! While this show clearly went off the rails over time, it is impressive how much The Brothers Duff cooked with this shit; so much iconic imagery & lingo, great characters with recognizable costumes that we still see every Halloween, and the absolute minimum amount of screen time for Schnapp!

We're so excited to revisit Stranger Things from the beginning and we hope you are too!!

JJ Kerba AND "Atmosphere" by Joy Division? Oh we're definitely rewatching 13RW in July ;D

Hopper's plot in this season might be my favorite thing in all of Stranger Things honestly, I'm such a sucker for that type of stuff. David Harbour is so perfect for this role it's insane

The concept of Gaten Matarazzo watching 13 Reasons Why is so wild to me. Like, I cannot fathom what his reaction would be to multiple rape and suicide scenes. It makes me feel sorry for him, just thinking about it. It genuinely feels like he exists on a mortal plain separate from one where those sorts of horrible things can happen

In the end credits, Joe Keery is also listed under Nancy’s dad😂😂😂

I think it's the other way around regarding the script for Backrooms; it was written by Will Soodik (and his draft has apparently recently leaked online), and I think Kane did a director's pass to tweak and insert some of the elements from his web series. Additionally, it sounds like Oz Perkins has kinda become his mentor, so he probably had a guiding hand on this.

please invite gaten to rewatch stranger things but then play 13 reasons why as revenge for prank encounters

Regarding Miles' point that the high school shots with Nancy and Steve feel like their own movie, I'm far from the first to make this point, but it is pretty cool how the first season is almost three different "types" of movies for each group we follow. Winona and Hellboy are in a conspiracy thriller; Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan are in a teenage horror flick; and Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Millie are in a coming-of-age adventure movie. It's also fun that each group has a different piece of the puzzle with Hawkins Lab (the adults), the Demogorgon (the teens), and Eleven (the kids), and the story is all of those pieces getting slotted together. I think S3 and S4 are a lot of fun, but this first season feels so deliberate and well-crafted compared to how out of control and off the rails later seasons get.

Sim

s4 hopper was bad cause they just turned him into his marvel character

The concept of gaten watching 13rw...... cinema actually

Rachel Lewis

anyone wanna be family but only in the sense that we all use the same netflix login? 😍

"Hopper bouncing on it crazy style" is one of my favorite things Miles has ever said

Ash

Getting gaten on a 13 reasons why track might be the most inspired idea you've ever had I feel like my third eye was opened

Lucy Turner

I was gonna comment about Montys sis being in obsession but I'm glad you clocked it, Tylers Dad being Conrads dad opens the floodgates for a TSITP actor to watch 13rw too

You're not wrong Eric, Wemby is more like 7'6" if you ask anybody who's actually seen him he's literally an alien. He downplays his height on paper because every 7'6" guy who's ever been in the league has gotten career ending injuries while quite young..think Yao Ming
