typically i set up the show or movie either while watching this or during the intro of the track and pause where i need to and then when you say press pause i leave the track running but press play on the show

First I get ready to do whatever I'm doing (usually fire up my work laptop so I can listen while I work), then queue up the track and make sure it's synced.

Don't get how this way works won't it be out of sync if u just leave the commentary going?

i usually try to guess where the sync up point is before i start the track. while the intro is playing i get some snacks ready and play the movie when you say press pause! sometimes i make it a challenge to go retrieve the food i ordered during the intro and try to make it back in time before its sync up time.. doesnt always work

Nah because if you click “play” on whatever you’re watching after Eric says “press pause,” the commentary track continues along with it, as long as you’ve synced the show/movie up at just the right spot beforehand. I do this too!! Although I love the idea of drawing a bath to prepare 😂

ditto for me. For shows on streaming, it's almost always after that service's logo aka the very first one you see so I usually get that ready during the preamble. I also sometimes drain the main vein if I feel that you'll be talking long enough for me to get back in time to press play. Doesn't always work perfectly but if it's the first/last episode of a show or an older movie that you are rewatching then I know that I'll have enough time since you usually have more comments to make.
