the links on this leading to baby geniuses is so cursed

Rodney LaBorde

If you’re using your phone for the track, make sure you have no upcoming alarms / put your phone on airplane mode

Abby Mason

The link for the Watch Us Watch goes to the Baby Geniuses movie hahhaha

ShadowMonkey105

You have to do the little pointing arm wave with Eric when he says "press pause" or it doesn't count

Edward Shin

One thing I’ve always wondered was how to get the sync perfect, should I press pause as soon as I hear the “P” in pause or after you completely say the word?

My name is very fucking Tom Cruised!

I second this! What I usually do is press play on the movie 3 seconds after Eric’s done saying “press pause” Another issue that’s out of his control is if I’m streaming something in Australia, my copy of the movie will eventually become out of sync since it’s ever so slightly faster over here. If I’m desperate I’d just pause the movie for 10 seconds or so until the track catches back up. But I usually just pirate whatever it is, thus avoiding the issue of getting out of sync since the pirated copy is almost certainly from the US.

Magnus Fulton

Eric in the discord yesterday saying this was one of the funniest tracks had me hyped.

Magnus Fulton

But then you find out it’s with JAKE AND MICHAEL?!? Ohhhh we eating good tn.

ItsGwenActually

I know it's been mentioned but yea the frame rates being ever so slightly different depending on region threw me off the first few times I ran into It.

Lee Karlinsky

speaking of magical trains, missed opportunity to pan to the HOGWARTS express when you were right next to it!

prettymuchit

iirc someone came up with a fix (certain percentage sped up or slowed down in VLC) so I’ll find that to include

Theodora (she•her•hers)

making sure you name what logo the sync point is and also specifying exactly when during the logo you press (ie; when it fully fades out, as soon as it appears, etc) i feel like this isn't always super clear

prettymuchit

ooo really! you mean you don’t think i make it clear enough? what could i add to my usual spiel? think i usually say when something fades/cuts to black

Theodora (she•her•hers)

well I know at least once you didn't mention which logo it was when there were multiple logos or sometimes i think I've been confused when you say specifically "cuts to black" but the logo actually fades as well which isn't as much of an issue, just makes it slightly off. maybe you have fixed the mentioning when it fades or cuts to black more now and maybe I'm thinking of an issue i had with an older track?

TooMuchSalty

Tbh Eric, you have the best syncing method out of all the different commentaries i've watched/listened to. Although I am a 'press play'er instead of pressing pause.

Zach Mueller

1000 tracks in if you change your spiel so help me god…

Nick Stokes

i find that only ever happens when its on binge/foxtel go. for some reason all the movies on there are about 3 mins shorter

Banana Hammocks

the "pause when i say to pause" spiel is by far the best commentary track syncing method ive seen

Devon

I mostly watch commentary tracks in the corner of my screen with the movie, so after you say pause I can see when the cut happens and pause it at the perfect time lol. over time though you get used to pausing either the track or the film momentarily to sync them up once its started.

Jay

good to see you back at universal I love that place so much

Michael Urías

I tend to press pause right when the footage jump-cuts after you say, "press pause". Most of the time it syncs up just right. Also sometimes I'll look for the flashes of light coming from your screen if I need to adjust.
