May 16th I will go live with my first ever Livestream workshop, which will be free to attend. I will demonstrate some of the lighting techniques I use, live, interactively, and allow you to ask questions. You will be able to see and listen to how I set up everything from scratch, and you will be able to follow a live nude shoot with the fantastic model Regina Piil. Then I will illustrate the process I use to select images, and time permitting; I will quickly edit a picture, so you get to see the entire process from concept, through setup, the actual shoot, to the finished image. Let me explain why it makes sense: There are four parts to creating a successful image: • Composition - aligning or posing the subject in a visually exciting shape that commands attention, and then a theme and some lines that will make the viewer engage with the image. It's arguably the most important thing in photography as its what makes you even notice the image. • Lighting - Making sure the subject looks it's best • Model expression to evoke emotion and finally, • Post-production or editing. The composition is a very precisely honed process I have spent years learning, and I have made a complete guide in video form that, in little more than 1 hour, will explain, in-depth, what you need to do to create beautiful images. If you have seen this in advance, you will understand a lot more of what I do when I direct and, more importantly, why I do it. You will also support my artistic efforts and help me create more images, but it is not a requirement - this workshop is free to attend regardless.
