Plack panther (Patreon)

I remember the first thing I noticed about Naomi was she is TALL. I picked her up at the train station in the afternoon and she's very tall. 

Very sweet too though.

Anyway, we picked up a couple of salads on the way to the studio where we started shooting images 2+3 which are shot with a deep umbrella (a Westcott Zeppeliner - which I believe is the same as Elinchrom's Lightmotiv. It can give this ring flash kind of feeling if you stand in the middle of it.

The rest of the images are daylight through a window, the stripes are created using a fringe curtain.

I rarely participate in competitions but I did win a Graphis Gold award fro the poster image. The light on this is just exquisite, but It has also been helped along with the way I edit skin-tones and do dodge and burn.  My idea was to make the models organic shape be framed by the hard light from the window frame. 

That said, in my opinion hard light works extremely well with dark skinned women.

Interestingly enough I've tried doing something similar a couple of times since this one, but never really succeeded to the same degree.

We were supposed to shoot the next day's morning super early, but she ghosted me (she overslept and didn't hear her phone while I was outside her hotel at 4 am calling her). 

Too bad as the weather was perfect and it would have been amazing. 

Never had that happen to me before (or after).
