Naya in the studio (Patreon)
Content
I did this shoot with Russian model Naya Memedova one of the times she visited Copenhagen. Everything is shot just with the daylight available in the studio, and some on our old studio floor which was a nightmare to clone because of the grooves and dips.
Anyway, we ended up with some nice images I think, the first one has won a host of prizes and medals since I at the time was quite active in photo salons and competitions. It' shot with a Lomo Petzval 85mm which is a recreation of sorts of the old vintage lenses based on designs of Joseph Petzval. There is a strange characteristic of this lens as it, first of all, does not have a flat focus like modern lenses but rather a bowl-shaped one, and secondly, that highlights out of focus will get a dreamy swirly bokeh.
And btw, if you wonder about the camera on the last BTS image it's a SONY NEC-7 with a Sony 50mm f 1.8 (equivalent to a 75mm because of the crop sensor. I used this camera to shoot 90% of my book the Graces. Great little camera and an even better price point. (it's something like €500 for the camera including the kit lens. and the 50mm is about €250.
As always in the studio, I use whatever I have (which is not much) as props for the shoot.
The characteristic btw. is something I find help you being imaginative. If you have an abundance of options it's hard to explore the depth of certain props. I tend to get bored with the things I use, but then if I don't have anything else available I find new ways of using them.
