I recently had the pleasure of making a couple of sets with the beautiful and voluptuous Italian model Ayla.

We were steering towards an erotic mood in this set and I wanted it to appear like a personal moment rather than a posed set.  I wanted some environment (a place that suggested some intimacy) but without drawing attention to it.

I decided to shoot with a 50mm f. 0.95 with a very shallow depth of field to maintain the focus on what's important, and leave the radio and environment somewhat abstract.

Everything is lit with daylight streaming through a couple of windows, and a huge reflector to the left of the camera to soften the light from the front side of the sofa. I always place reflectors at an angle to the light so it has the same direction, and not opposite so it would look like two separate lightsources.

While I generally like hard light and rarely use reflectors, I also knew that if I wanted to see details Ayla's  hair, her eyes, and between her legs, I'd need some softening.

If you look closely you can see the slight extra shadow from the reflector underneath Ayla's breast, and underneath her right arm on the top image.
