Katya Clover in paradise (ish) (Patreon)

When working with traveling models (or similar), a shoot will need to be arranged weeks or even months in advance. In Denmark weather is unpredictable at best, but you have to agree on a date and time, so what do you do?
Well, I like to stack the odds in my favor, so I generally do two things:
I try to arrange to make a day's shoot ut split over afternoon/evening and early morning as I find the light is best during this timeframe. Then if we go on location, I find an Airbnb or similar for spending the night. Most traveling models don't mind free accommodation, and I find this works great.
And as backup, I book a studio just in case the weather is unworkable, which has happened.
In this particular case, I had a shoot scheduled with Katya Clover and planned to go to Sweden.
We met up for lunch in Copenhagen and drove toward Sweden, checked into the accommodation, and then went to Kullaberg to shoot all the rocky images.
The next morning at sunrise, however, it turned out to be completely foggy and unshootable, so we turned in for another couple of hours.
It was still foggy, so pretty cold, but lifting slightly and the last chance. So I made a thermos with Tea (it always pays to keep the model as warm as possible), and we drove off to a nearby manor house and shot the first three images.
I also shot some others but these were just not good enough because of the low contrast.
Lightwise, everything is shot in natural light.
What works best for me outdoor is finding a good-looking structure and then figure out whether the light will be usable (as in directional) in that spot. Usually, rocks are dark, so they will restrict light like a v-flat, making the light perfect for my purposes.
For the rocks series the first day it was sunny, but that also meant a lot of people exploring. So I mostly choose to shoot in the shade, as it was a lot more private and I try hard not to offend other people when I'm shooting in public places.
