I created these during a workshop with Aja to illustrate how little you need to create a great image.

I wanted an immaculate, almost reductionistic image, so I put a white gloss acrylic plate on the floor and placed the model in front of a white wall.

Lighting was a 7' / 215cm silver reflective umbrella with a diffuser placed as close as possible to the model at a 45º angle (see the angle of the shadow on the floor), and then a black V-flat on the shadow side.

The significant light source gives a very even light, and the Black V-flat makes sure I have a distinct shadow so good separation on the side.

From there on, I asked the model to downplay expression to maintain the underplayed look of the image.
