Heidi Backlit (Patreon)

I started shooting nudes for real around 2013. We had some Canon 5dm2, but they were too clunky for my liking, so I got hold of a Sony NEX-7 APX-C camera with a 16-50 mm ƒ3,5-4 kit lens that was ridiculously cheap ($500 or so). Then I purchased a Sony 50mm ƒ.1.8 (superb lens at $300).
The kit lens was just not sharp enough, and I got hold of a Zeis 16-55 ƒ. 4 (about $800).
One of the things the kit lens could not do was shoot backlit, so I devised this with Heidi as a test shoot to uncover the possibilities of the Zeiss Lens.
From a picture point of view, I used a bit too much reflection from the front, making everything seem a bit artificial, but I like them regardless.
Later an added a Zeiss tout 32mm toe collection and my book The Graces was shot with the NEX7 and on of the three lenses above.
And I've created numerous prints up to 70x100 cm from that 24MP off a $1300 camera/lens combo.
