Last year in Italy, I rented an Airbnb mostly because I had a (sort of) private terrace. I managed to sprain my big toe the day before and had to secure some sports tape and hiking poles to use as crutches when shooting outdoor, which meant we got a late start, so the sun was a bit higher than I would have liked. Not a significant problem for the recliner, of the one where she is lying down, and I was lucky to have a cloud pass, but for the rest of the images, I moved her into the shadow for more diffuse light. That is my preferred technique when shooting outdoor midday.
