I had rented this apartment with big windows which allowed sunlight in when there was sunlight. The windows functioned as a giant softbox that yielded beautiful soft but directional light when overcast. Since the entire apartment was painted white, there was much reflection, so I placed a black “blocker” on the model's left side.

Perhaps of interest to some with some studios, I found a German company that builds Roll-ups. You know the type you see at tradeshows with advertising on.

I had a couple of those made bust printed with black on vinyl in 220x140cm, and this is what7 I used. Because of the size, they are very efficient, and they are easy to transport and set up/tear down. And I think they work better than the 1x2m (3x6’) fold-out ones as they have a built-in stand.
