Show them the ropes (Patreon)

This is one of the most imitated shots I’ve ever done.

The model is Rebecca Perry, and I strung a rope up in the ceiling.

It has a certain graphic appeal due to the diagonal shape and the rope snaking around her wrists. And I don’t mind people copying an idea, but I don’t understand the appeal of duplication down to the last detail - even after booking the same model again.

Then it becomes more of a rip-off, and the only thing you accomplish is to recreate a scene.

I think it’s OK to work out how it was done by recreating the setup (notice how the light is perfect on Rebecca's Face AND her stomach).

But once there, you should make it your own.
Do a different pose, twist it, or change the lighting.

And if you do a complete rip-off, at least credit the original author.😉
