My photographic background is still-life: 

I’ve been shooting a lot of products during my advertising days, and sometimes this shines through in my studio images. 

It’s all about shape and lighting, and it’s the same with this series.

My inspiration for this series with an anonymous model was the Aubade ad called Lecons de seduction, just without the lingerie.

Lightwise, it's a white background and white v flats extending around the sides of the model and on top. And then two bare strobe heads shoot into the corners so there is a bit of a wrap-around light but the front can still remain in shadow. 

In addition, the model is on a white semi-matte plate so there is a reflection from the background more than a shadow.

This requires some black v-flats from the camera side and some black fabric on the floor to prevent reflection. 

The hand-stand image is simply light from a window.
