We r all just probably analyzing someone holding cards💀

Solidaritea

From horoscope.com cartomancy: Ace of Hearts: new relationship, marriage, or union 2 of hearts:finding balance with partnership, spending quality time together (3 hearts?: challenges in relationships, being a third wheel, indecision) (Queen of hearts? A woman who loves boldly) 4 of hearts: stability, marriage, feeling secure in partnership or at home 2 spade: conflict, divisive issues between you and another 3 spade: the aftermath of a divisive encounter, backstabbing 4 spade: finding peace in doing nothing, waiting before acting 9 spade: overwhelm, dealing with loss, worry, grief 10 spade: too much pressure, responsibility, or worry Jack spade: a young person who isn’t afraid to do the “right thing”

If this has actual meaning to the story my guess is this is all Dieters/SA's developlent to eachother so far and what has yet to come - in order. Presently on the 3 or 4 of spades in Dieters development. Assuming relationship early on can be interchangeable with friendship. And assuming Dieter thought he and Shin were starting to be more rather than just hoping, etc.

AuntWacky

Interesting. It'd be a different story if this was poker, hehe.

Sadly I have zero knowledge in cards.. but I know for a fact its very important here..

Quim out here making me learn how to play card games so I can understand if there are hidden meanings. 😭

Edited: From my understanding, Dieter has a really good hand here. Assuming the hidden card in the shot isn't the Queen of hearts edited out and is a 3, his hand is a Gin. He might also try "knocking." Knocking with deadwood points is known as going down 👀, immediately ending the hand without giving the opponent a chance to play.

if they were playing very obscure european game Durak, id understand but im completely lost

Nolan Knee Appreciator

hidden card is a 3! id explain the reasoning fully but its hard to understand but basically; dieter showing his hand means he has all his cards lined up to be a set (3 sets technically) which means that, by counting up, the hidden card is a 3! this means dieter does NOT have the queen of hearts!!

The conversation in this chapter was awesome😩

It’d be so cool to see the characters drawn as cards in a card deck and see which card each character would be
