WIP Flaming Angel + Importance of silhouette (Patreon)

This is the sketch/concept for a commission I did about 2 years ago for Synnie, featuring their original character. There was some miscomunication at first, but we managed to reach an idea we both liked in the end!

Characters like this one are always a challenge. There are so many things and big elements going around that it can be really tough to find a good pose for them. In such cases, I try to focus on getting a readable silhouette. Even if you can't tell the inner details of the skirt section, the empty spaces around the arms and feathers help you recoognize you're seeing a sort of angel-like figure spreading their wings.
