Janitor Outfit

The next Barely Working outfit is going to be the janitor outfit for Warehouse - Wednesday. We thought the janitor outfit would be a great outfit after the safety outfit because of how many messes Candace made there. I talked about difficulty in one of my previous posts. I would like to make every Wednesday level much harder than the rest of the levels. When people leave comments about how difficult Barely Working is and how great they feel when they win, I feel like I'm doing a good job. If the game was really easy I would feel like I'm doing an average job because most porn games are meant to be easy and sexy. Making a difficult game feels good.

BDSM Outfit

The outfit we're working on afterwards is going to be a dominatrix type outfit for Meeting - Wednesday. Another difficult level. This one isn't fully themed out yet so I can't say much, but I love the outfit!

Cafe Level

The Cafe level ended up being much easier than I thought. I thought that people would have a hard time because memorizing orders is like much more mentally straining than other levels, but it turns out 70% of people were beating it. I don't like that. I would like to update the level to make it harder, make it more punishing and reducing the time limit. I'm gonna try to bring it down to 30-40% just to make the game more enjoyable. And this is subjective, difficulty isn't always rewarding, but for some reason it feels appropriate for this game.

Art

You may have noticed that the Cafe level art looks similar to our previous art style, but it's not 100% there. That's the drawback of having multiple people work on the game together. We have a fix for this. We are using multiple artists to push game updates out more frequently, but our main artist, BiteBox, is going to go back and re-do the pictures to make them perfect. This is my solution to giving fans what they want and also making sure the final product looks amazing. It's double the work, but that feels like a natural expansion to a growing business. The work we create matters, but the speed matters too.

Level 5

Level 5 is going to be great. We are designing it to be open-ended. The background is going to simply be a table. Candace is going to be standing by the table. What can we do with that? Well, I would like the Monday level to be Candace working at a convention. Maybe it's a job fair? Maybe she's selling a product?

The fun part is that the Monday level can be a convention level, but we can change the entire vibe for Tuesday. Tuesday is going to be an office party where Candace is standing by a table with her coworkers celebrating a party. Having the design be open-ended is gonna make this very fun!

This idea came to us when we wanted to create a party level, but then we thought of a convention level, but then we realized that they could both work very similarly. Lowering the intensity of the background lets us utilize this design.

Barely Working - Early Access

I have updated the Steam page for Barely Working to be "Early Access" because I think we should aim for completing Levels 1 - 5, Monday - Wednesday by the summer release date. I don't think we can finish Monday - Friday for all of the levels by then. Because of that, I would rather release as Early Access and spend the next few months finishing up the game and then doing an actual release. It feels a little weird to be in Early Access for such a short amount of time, but I don't want to lie to customers and release it unfinished and then be like "don't worry, there's more coming!"

I am also going to price Barely Working at $14.99.

Project NextDoor (3D Game)

We are working on 2D images for the, eventual, new 3D game. Quick reminder that this game is about having sex with your neighbor's wife while the husband is working in another room in the house. You have to keep checking the map to see where he is and then if you think you can do it, then you would run over to Jennifer and have sex with her. The more you progress, the different patterns the husband will have and different sex scenes will happen. At first they're just kissing, but eventually they'll be banging it out fully nude. I love the idea, I just really hope I can execute the gameplay part well.
