July Monthly Update (Patreon)

August is upon us! Summer's on its way out and fall's in sight. Let's check on how July went!

Songs of the Spellbound Sea: We are printing! Took several more rounds of proofing than I expected to, but we're there. There's a fuller update over on Kickstarter, but the TL;DR is that we're in manufacturing, we've got the v1.1 PDF distributed to backers, and the book's now up for sale on DriveThruRPG as well as my own storefront. (I get more money through my website, to be clear, but DTRPG can potentially pull in new folks who haven't heard of the book.)

Patreon: Good growth! This month's design-notes post will go up in a few hours, on our two dueling wizard subclasses for the month.

Discord:  Not much growth here, just a couple folks.

Social Media: Decent growth on Bluesky.

Troubadour, Swashbuckler, Bloodrager: I was going to cut the new free releases based on the 1.01; once I started working on 1.1, it became clear I should wait for that instead. It's on the docket!

Bloodrager did get it's first new subclass since the book! The Nightborn Bloodline is currently supporter-exclusive. I haven't decided if it'll be timed or fully exclusive.

Necromancer: The Necromancer chugs along! July saw the Spirit Mage subclass for everyone and the Abominator subclass for supporters.

I've also started on a Necromancer foundry module, which I'll use for my own testing. This will become available to supporters once it's reasonable to do so.

Subclasses: Officially I was scheduled to do the Order of Mastery wizard this month. But I had two different approaches to the idea that I liked, and I opted to make both! So we also saw the Order of Spellshapers. Mastery seems to have had the better reception, though I think Spellshapers might actually play better at the table.

Onward to July!

Kickstarter: With production finally kicked off, my current guesstimate on delivery is mid-October.

Classes: More Necromancer! Probably on the docket is the Graveguarded and the Bone Knight. I'm currently leaning towards reclassifying the Bone Knight as a fighter sub, though, in which case we'd have one of the Bonegrafter, Spiritualist, or Lichlord up next.

Polls: Next month's polls are up for one more day! Our subclass poll is currently very unpredictable, with the College of the Canvas bard in the lead but trailed closely by the Twisted fighter, Featherbond ranger, and Corpseflower warlock. Meanwhile, our supporter-only magic item poll, while the supporter-only poll this month is for magic items! And I've reanimated our necromancer subclass poll as an evergreen poll with no end date — this should do a better job of getting people's input as we go along.
