October Monthly Update (Patreon)
Content
Spooky time is nearly over, so let's see how it went!
Songs of the Spellbound Sea: I'm going to write the KS update later today, but after the print run came out bad, we've restarted manufacturing. The good news is the factory totally owned the mistake and are entirely footing the bill here (as they should). The bad news is it's another 8-week delay, at least, and runs a risk of putting us back into tariff hell.
Patreon: Continued free growth and a nice spike of paid growth! I think almost all of this was drawn in by the Necromancer 1.0.
Discord: Still humming along with slow growth.
Troubadour, Swashbuckler, Bloodrager: No update here, I still, still haven't cut the ~final releases, because InDesign is very annoying. In the queue to get to.
Necromancer: The Necromancer made it to 1.0! It's very pretty now.
The changes here were mostly a few quality-of-life things, the most important of which is letting minions dash for free. Without that, zombie minions might as well just hit the off switch when in open terrain.
I'm working on October's supporter subclass but won't quite have it done in time. It definitely doesn't have any mummies in it. Pinky-swear.
Subclasses: This month saw the Way of Steel Monk, a heavy-armored monk who fights with a literal iron fist. And as part of our supporter radiation grab-bag, we got the Poisonlight Stalker, a radiation-themed ranger!
Other Stuff: Since the supporter poll was a grab-bag, it's not totally done yet. I should have a few magic items to share later today, and probably a monster or two next week if not sooner.
Design Notes: Double-dose this month! (Because I was late with last month's). October's design notes post was about spells, and specifically the issues of overlap/niche protection and GM-only spells. And September's was an in-depth discussion and a bit of a postmortem on a new class I have been working on, the Abomination. I'm not done working on it, but if-when it comes back, it'll look pretty different than that draft.
What's walking our way in the cold November rain?
Kickstarter: Probably pretty quiet on the book front next month, but I should have updates on the VTT modules soonish.
Classes: I'll probably do some more work on the Abomination, but no promises here on how far it gets or whether it sees daylight. And maybe I'll finally cut the final versions of the three older classes, I'm super late on that.
Polls: Last day to vote in the polls! The subclass poll is currently a dead tie between the Cannoneer rogue and the College of Mechanists bard. The supporter-only poll is a warlock pact this month; right now it's tied between the Pact of the Brush and the Pact of the Cannon.
