Even though it's still Summer here in Texas (hot, hot, hot) ... starting to celebrate spooky season gives me hope that Fall is on it's way 🤣

This model just makes me smile! Even the "scary" face, which is a little mischievous and grumpy, makes for a fun Halloween duo.You have lots of options here with STLs and 3MF project files for the following:

Scary and Silly Keychain/Mini

Scary and Silly Captured Magnets

XXL Version coming VERY soon! Still finalizing the files.

Happy Printing -Dan*Please consider tagging @flexifactory/ #flexifactory in your social posts so I can see your amazing prints! AND make sure to share in the private Flexi Factory discord :) To join discord, go to your pinned post and click the Discord Link! HEREPrint tips and Info:I successfully test printed between 100% and 700% for this one. You can go big, no problem. The smaller versions have less detail and smaller joints, so consider using high quality settings and materials.

6x2 magnets should be used: HERE

STL and 3MF files are included. * If you use the 3mf file, please remember that it is a painted project file for your convenience. You must check your material/printer/settings to make sure it works correctly for your printing project.

I print with, 15% infill/gyroid, .12 or .16 layer height for quality.

As usual, make sure you have good adhesion, especially for the mini versions. A glue stick works or I have switched to using on all my machines... a BIQU Cryopgrip Frostbite adhesion plate or Bambulab Supertack

Gradient PLA works well with this model: I have a comprehensive list of Filament I use here: Amazon List

Awesome, I already got my ASA for the XXL model!

Jim Bishop

I can't wait to get an open printer 🔥

Silvyr

OMG! I can’t wait to print this

SkullMan Prints

Will you be re-releasing this version of the Skelly in an XL? My customers like the chunkier skeletons, and definitely the bigger the better! Can't wait to print a whole bunch of these guys!

Brandon Davids

Already printing 10 of them. Great work!

Dan

Yes, I put it in the text above :) Just finalizing the files.

Bridget Scribner

I love how fun this file is! I was really hoping the head could be clipped on, so they could be swapped out and printed in different colors for those that don't have AMS printers. Oh well, still a fun modification for an already popular design! Thank you!!

Dan

I tried a bunch of different ways to make a strong separate head... tough for the mini. But I will keep be keeping it mind if there is a good solution.

Jake Vance

I love it!!! Mass printing and im gonna pass them out for Halloween instead of candy!!!

Adam Jones

Fantastic Halloween creation!!! These will be an instant hit!! I can't wait to start printing them up!! Thanks for all your hard work and sharing these with us!!!

Dan

Me too :)

Brians3dsolutions

Just an FYI, the magnet version is missing. The file is there but it is actually missing the magnet holes, looks just like the keychain version. This is true for both the silly and scary.

Brians3dsolutions

Well upon slicing I found the magnet holes imbedded, hence the word captured. I'll just leave this here in case someone else has the same issue. Just need to do a pause at the right layer. Be gentle it's early for me, still half asleep. 😴

Ed

Do we have to put in a pause for the magnet? Or, does it just glue on the back of it. I am not sure what captured magnet means.

Brians3dsolutions

You're going to have to pause, it might be different layer for you depending on your printer and settings. Around 30mins in for me. Make sure you place the parts on the bed where you'll be able to easily access the holes. I placed a pause right before it seals the holes. Hopefully they are just able to drop in and don't require too much pressure.

Dan

As Brian mentioned above, you will put a pause in the slice and then place the magnets. Apply your settings, go over to the slice tool, once it's sliced you will scrub the layers down until just above where the hole is covered. You will put a pause in the print and slice again. This tells the machine to stop. I find that the magnets stick to the plate so there shouldn't be a ton of pressure to put them in. I had them open for another print but then people said that they scratch what their magnetized to so I think this is a good option :-)

Little t Mo

Will an exposed magnet version be coming out?

Dan

No. I do not intend to make an open version.

Myst 3D

I tried this print 3x and one a few the same leg didn't print - i washed my plate sprayed some hairspray and this did not help. I have not thrown the towel in yet.

Lady A

I have tried 4 times to print, and the legs and body won't stick to the plate. I have cleaned and used hairspray and still won't stay on the plate. Any ideas? Thank you!

Bridget Scribner

I have found if the bed isn't perfectly level it won't print correctly! Keep trying!!

Myst 3D

I triple checked that too. I may just size it up a little and print one and see

Dan

Try a brim or a thin layer of gluestick. Could be your materials and/or temp settings. You can show photos and add your settings and materials to the troubleshoot section of the Discord for more help.

Dan

You need great adhesion for the small parts. Try a thin layer of glue or a brim. Check your temp settings for your particular pla. You can rotate the design if it is failing at the same spot. Sound like a temp.issue to me. Likely some curling and the nozzle is knocking it loose.

Bridget Scribner

I found slowing it down just a bit helps the most for sure! We've used Rave 4X hold for years.

David Long

I have my XL going at 1110%

Lori Cook

Thanks for the info... I kept thinking I missed something :) I guess I did lol

Jason Weems

These if printing at 100% are going to be small parts, bed adhesion is going to be the number 1 thing. For good bed adhesion: Level bed (not just auto-leveling, manually leveling your bed, I am talking to you Bambu Owners) Bed Temp, you need to probably increase your bed temp by 5 degrees if you are having issues, 55 is not always great. Some ppl run those cold plates which are fine but verify your material they aren't rated for everything. Nozzle Temp, make sure you are using the correct temp for your material, silk is hotter luminous is hotter just because they are PLA don't keep the same settings. Adhesion aids: Rafts, terrible idea don't do it unless you know what you're doing Brims, I hate brims but the work, try to do just outer brims but Google it. Last but not least everyone's favorite (not mine) glue sticks, they are actually a release agent but they do help adhesion. Typically I only use then for ASA or ABS because they need so much heat its hard to keep. Glue sticks will mess with the build plate finish of your print if you are worried about that. There are alts hair spray or JT100(i like better but still has issues). I hope this helps anyone with issues printing and parts flying off mid print.

Dan

I thought I had already commented :) Thank you for your helpful post!

RPhilen

I am so sad any advise would be greatly appreciated! I have tried printing the XL head 5 times on 2 different printers. I left the size the same as file I downloaded. Every timeI try to print the head it does amazing until I get to the top when it starts adding the face. Then it doesn't do well. The texture is no longer smooth and looks gouged. I already have two whole bodies printed and glued together. Anyone else having issues? Any suggestions?
