Hey There,

After playing with the squirrel for a bit I felt that as a fidget toy the tail was a little too long. So I made an alternate short tail version. Just note that the short tail doesn't curl up.

Also, I noticed that due to a crappy optimization tool I used, the last update had a slight bumpy head disorder. Version _04 fixes this.

Thanks Again-Dan

How can I find this print?

Dan

That is an older public release available with the 40 percent discount.

GameryDen

I noticed I had a harder time printing when the tail was too long because the pieces kept moving a lot. I didn't want to use a raft, hopefully the shorter version works for me. Thank you 👍🏻

Dan

The discord is private and has to be hooked up through patreon. I found these instructions: -Log in to your Patreon account. -Hover over your profile avatar to open the user menu. -Click on My profile settings from the menu. -Click on Apps from the menu bar. -Click the Connect button next to Discord under App Integrations.

I use a skirt, 2 line and "tune" baby Z steps, like driving, while printing the skirt, to get that perfect first layer adhesion.

Charley Jones

Actually, I used a raft as the first one failed because the small parts moved. Brim is too hard to remove, but if you have your raft tuned.

TheCraftyLycan

Hairspray, works every time. I'm up over 10 printers now printing articulated models around the clock. I don't have time for failures. Hairspray gets the job done.

@d3d_creative

How do I get the "Lily pad and lily for the flexi frog's" 🤣

Christina Knoll

Thank you for continuing to improve the model!

Dan

I'm sure it will come back around.

Pauline S Lenz

I am having an issue with the front right foot, I have printed 4 of them, and it always breaks off? Help! :-)

Dan

Ouch! how many walls are you using? I always suggest 3 walls. Look at the wall lines of the broken foot and make sure they are not separating. If you can count the layer lines, you might be losing filament on travel or under extruding. also when removing the foot from the bed, pop it loose with the putty knife towards the body.

Pauline S Lenz

I had it set to 2 walls, just changed it to 3 walls so we will see if that helps. I wish you sold a profile for these, my old brain needs some help! Thanks for the response, much appreciated!

Michael Bailey

i have printed 6 and all have lost a leg or two so i would be interested as well

Makerworld king

I’ve printed 3. No problems at all. The model is fine.

Makerworld king

Def user error. Your model is plenty strong. I printed 3 so far.

Jessica Spliethof

I've printed about 5. Had issues with the front legs on most of them. I adore this file and want a good one to finally print!

JD23mil

7 printers. Same here, but I use glue stick, I thought the overspray was too messy.

Shannon Patterson

im the same printed a few and the front left foot snaps off no matter how i seperate it from the raft

QuyetPawz from the Purple BoxFort

I printed mine using a brim on a Monoprice Select Mini V2 so it was quite small. :) The feet haven't broken off on mine, maybe try that? :)

Joshua Pate

Mine too! I thought I was too rough taking it off the build plate but now I see it might be a design problem. I used gorilla glue and it has stayed on.

Dan

None of my models need supports :)

SirPrintsAlot3D

I know your comment is a couple months old but You should get a hictop PEI build plate and the filament friday e-leveler tool to level your bed perfectly each time. Once i tuned it, no glue or anything needed, just a skirt and thats it. prints come out beautiful

Chris Thomas

Not sure if I'm in the right place but here I am. Is FlexiSquirrel_Curved_03 supposed to be the same scale as FlexiSquirrel_Straight_03?

Dan

They are the same scale. I made them this way per request to fit on the bed. And then for the long and short tail, the long tail stands up, but the short tail is super flexi and fun to play with.

Chris Thomas

flexisquirrel-straight-long-tail is 79 Grams and flexisquirrel-curved-long-tail is 136 grams and appears bigger. I re-downloaded them to make sure I have the most up to date file.
