I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! This month's bonus is a special request from several members, and I excited to start this collection with a fun a way to display these two Dino characters. T-Rex has an opening mouth like the original model, and I have added a pop-in ball socketon the plaque, with holes in the back for easy wall mounting. I made these as big as my plate allows and they are now proudly hanging in my maker space :) These scale down easily for fridge magnets or maybe even clothes hooks? What is the OOPS plaque??? *** If you scale the triceratops too large (max out the size of the head on your plate) I provided an OOPS plaque because the original won't fit your print bed. You can also just use the oops plaque if you want the head as big as possible. Please scale them first and make sure they match :)***Printing tips and information:

Printed in Polymaker muted white and stained with THIS for a "bone" look. I also spray with matte polyurethane.

My settings are 15% infill, 3 walls at .12 layer height.

No supports needed. I use a purple glue stick on cool/smooth plate. Or Magigoo on my A1 mini textured pei plate. I do not use a brim, but it can help with adhesion.

Plaques scale up identical to character.

An easy upgrade to the plaque... you can make a layer color change and swap filaments to add a colored trim. Happy Sunday Funday and Happy Printing -Dan

They look amazing! Great job, man!

Need to get some stone filament for these I think… Look fun!

Danni

Awesome! Do you have a Pterodactyl to go with!?

Dan

Mark Tuttle

2026-09-06 23:00 Hey! Thank you for your awesome work. I love printing these! I have a quick question though. Would it be acceptable to add a nameplate to the plaque? I have several customers who would love for their children's names to be added to the top portion of the plaque.

Dan

I have only used .4. Nozzle.. you may try asking the question on Discord to see if anybody has experience with various size nozzles.

Dan

Ye! Adding names is an acceptable modification. The main rule with mods is that you can't change the character design or functionality. Beyond that. Beyond that, you can add Loops or holes or names :-)

@d3d_creative

Dan I don't understand why 3 Plaques, they all look the same. Also can you add a version with just a hanging slot (univeral wallmount hole) in it please, can't add images here but hope you understand what I mean. ;o) If not DM me on Discord and I'll attach image of univeral wallmount hole however if you look in PrusaSlicer under Shape Gallery it is in there.

Dan

The plaques are specific to the character because of the pop in feature. T-Rex has one and Triceratops has two. If you scale the Triceratops as big as your printbed...the original plate that goes with it will be too big to print on the plate. So I made the oops plate that is smaller but will fit the triceratops to mount.

Dan

The reason I did not add the universal mount is because of scale issues. Up or down too much and the "slit" portion would not function. What I did do is add an inner bevel to catch the nail. Kind of a ridge for the hanger to fit into.

Tim Belton

smart idea with the gel stain!

Chantal

Love this! I do have a suggestion for something a bit different than your usual designs as well. I would love to see a t-rex or triceratop skeleton business card holder. Maybe have it laying down with the card holder on it's flank. It would look great in our vendor's booth.

Dan

That's an idea first :) Thank you for the suggestion.

TIMOTHY L DURHAM

I would love to see a none skeleton version of both

J K

Hey Dan, What do you recommend to use for mounting them? For the 3 holes i the back? Thanks!

@d3d_creative

My bad here Dan, I realised this when I had the T-Rex version in slicer and understand the scalability issue on adding the universal mount slot. With that can I ask you provide the 3 Plaques with no holes in back so at least we can add the universal mount as a negative part no matter what scale we make it ;o) Thanks Dave

Ann Wendland

and........one more request! Did both full size and they are Great!

Ann Wendland

I'm printing the tri at 33% (3 of them) for coats.......I'd like to see a 3 hole mount at scale for them?

Dan

Unfortunately, since they are scalable, there's no real way to provide the same size hole for the variations of scales. What you could do is modify the whole when you slice it in the slicer. You would have the ability to add a hole on top of the current one with a modifier.

Dan

I just used a drywall anchor and screw. And a smaller nail with flat head for the smaller ones. I think it depends on the size and where you mount them.

Dan

Ah yes. That makes more sense, as I mentioned above...the modifier can be added :) I will work on it.

J K

Copy that master chief! I’m currently printing a gigantic one. 250%+ to scale. 🫡🫡🫡

Darknynja

Is there a benefit to oil gel stain over water-based stain for this type of application?

Dan

I just find it works more like paint. It is thicker, so for me, easier to work with.

Jill Martin

These would be great magnets!

Darknynja

That makes perfect sense. I was really just curios because the gel tends to be more expensive. Always trying to save a buck if I can. Thanks for the reply.

Vitaliy Babiy

How would one mount those plagues on the wall?

Dan

There are holes in the back for nails. An inner lip allows the head to fit in there. A flat version has been requested and I will be getting to it soon. Then you can add a universal hoke after you size it directly in the slicer if that is your preference :)

Patrick Reschke

Super part I just love it. but I'm probably just too stupid to get it on the wall... is there a template or something?

Andy Dawson (Dahen37)

I would love to see a Dragon skull! would go nicely with the Knight prints

Lee Richardson

Hammer - Nail.. Hangs quite well on just the one nail :)

Artist Guru Entertainment

Hey, great print came out looking fire. One question though, is their a way we can get the rest of the back of the skeletons head so can fuse via glue or 3D pen? This would be for both T-Rex and Triceratops. I understand the print needed a platform to print from but it would make this design complete.

Robert

Just a suggestion Dan can you put a hole in the back of the plague not all the way through but enough so we vmcan hang the plague on the wall please

Robert

Have you any plans to make more versions of these love the idea of them

Dan

There is already holes in place to hang on the wall. It is a hole with an inner edge to catch a nail and can be scaled.

Dan

I will likely add the stegosaurus :)

Dan

Make sure inside/outside brim is off :)

Lisa Meine

I absolutely love how this comes in multiple pieces for having option to print larger size objects. Very helpful for the neptune 4 max! -- (for future models) If you are able to have them "snap together" or "pop together" that would be awesome.

Sleepin4est

These are fantastic lol Wondering if maybe you might do some small arms mounted up to go with the trex head lol

Dan

That is a funny idea, hadn't thought of that:-)

Andy Larisch

Hey Dan, what size print do you use for fridge magnets? I bought the 5x2mm magnets from your other post. But magnet hole is too small when printing the plaque at 30%.

Dan

I printed at 50% however th3 magnets were not inset, I glued them on the existing hanging holes. You can modify in the slicer with a bigger hoke and inset them. Those holes were added to hang on nails

David Long

Whats the best way to mount the plaques on the wall. Hooks? or a big nai?

Anthony Maxwell

Can you make these head mounts into controller holders/mounts?

Angela

My customers LOVE these as magnets and are always asking if there will be others. Since you have done so many new dinos just thought I would put this on your radar. :)

Dan

Thank you! You are the second person to request recently. I took a break from them, as i did not get a ton of feedback as to whether they were a good bonus choice :)
