What I’m reading!

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. Holy crap guys. This is a long book. I get the feeling that while I’m reading this series, this is all you’re going to see from me. For like, months. Anyway, I’m liking it. This first book is definitely bloated though. It’s weird, I enjoy basically every page as I read it, but after a good 30-60-minute reading session I’m like, did anything actually happen?

What I’m watching!

Weapons was unreal! Like… I think it was about something. But I’m not sure what. And also, I think I loved it, but maybe I just hate the world? Anyway, I hesitate to call it a masterpiece, but that’s sure what it felt like.

What I’m playing!

Sail Forth. It’s a delightful little indie game. I’m sailing around occasionally fighting pirates. Still don’t really know if there is a way to complete this game, or if the world just keeps expanding infinitely. Still fun though!

Transport Fever 2. The announcement of the third game made we want to play this one again. It’s still nerdy fun.

Watch Movies! (And television, and read books, and play video games)

Hello everybody! How is it almost October already? This month I've largely been enjoying classic movies back on the big screen. Toy Story, Hamilton, Jaws, Apollo 13, and The Lord of the Rings have all been nostalgic theater rewatches for me. All of them hit harder at the movies instead of at home. I noticed so many background and design details in Toy Story. Hamilton with theater sound was amazing. Jaws is even more exciting, and Apollo 13 is so much more moving (great cast and great James Horner score). Also, extended Lord of the Rings in theaters with my kids. What more need I say? The best there is. At home I watched season 2 of Wednesday on Netflix. A fun (if slow) first half gave way to a very satisfying second half.  This series is Tim Burton's best work in years.Getting ready for spooky season, so I plan to read Bram Stoker's Dracula once we finish our CT shoot this week!What have you all been watching and reading?
