That's a Wrap: July 2026 (Patreon)

Here's a recap of what we did last month!Happy summer from the northern hemisphere! Summer has been a mix of bright, outdoor time and dark, indoor movie-watching. Some of that movie-watching was for the July shoot. Rather than the usual three days, we did it in two, thanks to a recent mini shoot. Are two long days better than three regular ones? Will there be loopy energy? You'll be the judge of that when the episodes come out! 🤪

Here's what premiered on YouTube in July! In honor of Independence Day, we reacted to Hamilton, this time about infidelity. We brought back ATLA for a Fire Nation family therapy session. Scar got the villain therapy treatment. We experimented with a new format in we which we don't watch clips at all: Good Lessons from Bad Movies. And we ended the month with a big 👎 with Project Hail Mary. AMAZE!

July was an active month here on Patreon. We shared a director's cut from the archives on The Martian since the world is on an Andy Weir kick! We A'd some Q's live during our July shoot. Alan and Megan did a deep dive on what's been going on with The Vessel. Patrons picked Jurassic Park as the next episode you force us to do. Oh no, not one of our favorite childhood classics! 🦖 And you were treated to some extra long DCs, plus a Patreon-exclusive episode on Project Hail Mary!

Many CT Studios updates!

On July 28th, we premiered Frostbite on the big screen! And since we had the theater, we decided to screen Moonstruck and CyranØ again, and give a little sneak peek of The Vessel. Read below for more about The Vessel as we ramp up toward production!

We did a second table read with the latest draft of the script. It's great to see it come to life with actors reading the script! We took copious notes and got some feedback from people at the read, and are working on another round of script revisions.

Alan and David and two of the cast members went up to the house we're using for The Vessel and shot a little teaser. We'll share it with you here soon!

We're getting ready to launch a crowdfunding campaign for The Vessel! Why are we crowdfunding? A big part of it is to get people excited and involved in the process. And the money we raise from the crowdfund will help us make the movie even better -- record the score with live instruments, do more practical effects, and other fun things that will really improve the finished film. Plus the more people we can get following and contributing to the crowdfund, the more it tells investors and theaters that people want to see this movie! The PNW leg of the tour has begun. It's happening right now! Today we're in Portland, and next week we're in the Midwest!
