That's a Wrap: September 2026 (Patreon)

Here's a recap of what we did last month!Hey, folks! What a whirlwind of a month! It felt like a decade and also a second long. We had some big weeks in September, starting with...
The September shoot! We didn't have a lot of time to prep for this shoot—given our tour, a mini shoot, and the chaos of making a movie—but we made it work! Eight whole episodes, plus a few livestreams, sponsors, and some silly Patreon content. Yes, another After Dark is coming! 😈
Then we went to FanX! There were technical difficulties trying to run the show, but we had a lovely extended Q&A with y'all. Thanks for coming to our panel! If you couldn't come to FanX or any of our live shows, fear not! We will be recording an on-set version of the live show - Movie Couple Therapy: Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean. 🏴☠️
The biggest thing, our crowdfunding campaign for The Vessel was fully funded!! THANK YOU to everyone who supported it in any way. We couldn't do this without you, and we are so excited to make this movie. We celebrated the end of the campaign with a marathon 10 HOUR livestream because that backer train just kept on rolling. Things got increasingly unhinged, but we hit our stretch goal to record the score with a live orchestra, and of course it made Alan cry. September was a scramble with all the moving pieces of a crowdfunding campaign, plus trying to finalize the script, secure cast and crew, start pre-production meetings with producers and department heads, and so much more. It's starting to get real, folks!
What a month! Let's look back on September's YouTube videos. The month began with a villain therapy for Ursula and a therapist reacts to To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Jono faced off against the Lion King Mentors, and we talked about why Peeta is a great example of healthy masculinity. We diagnosed Disney heroes, and we reacted to The Amazing Digital Circus finale with our friends at Film Theory! Any faves from the month?
Finally, here on Patreon, we dropped another blooper reel and a cool deep dive about making props for The Vessel. We shared a free video reviewing our 2026 tour experiences, and we livestreamed updates to Studio Execs and a Q&A from the CT set.
Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!
The pace will really pick up for pre-production this month! We'll be working to finalize everything with financing, script, cast, crew, and so many logistics. We've got a "page turn" meeting coming up -- it's a very long, very thorough read-through of the script with all the department heads so they can each know what they need to do for each scene. Props, wardrobe, lighting, sound, effects, everything. We're planning to livestream at least some of it for our Studio Execs. We'll also be doing some walk-throughs of the location to figure out all the logistics of getting it ready to shoot in a couple months.
And we'll be prepping for the final shoot of the year, though many of the episodes we shoot will come out in early 2027. Time flies! Here's an emoji sneak peek of something we're working on: 🦁🧙♀️🚪⚔️How was your month? What are you looking forward to this month?
