Here's a recap of what we did last month!

Happy spooky season! October felt like the calm before the storm. We had our heads down for prep, for Cinema Therapy and The Vessel, and now we head into the final CT shoot of 2026, holiday madness, and then production on The Vessel! Keep us in your thoughts. 😅

Last month on YouTube... it started off spooky with Frankenstein and ParaNorman. We diagnosed more Disney villains, and we discussed "nice guy" syndrome in Obsession. Returning guest (and our alleged son) Bryson reacted to Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender with us. And finally, Jono took on Oogway - does he actually give good advice?

We were guests on Digital Spaghetti, talking about all of our projects, particularly making movies funded by and with our Patrons!

Here on Patreon, we were subjected to another Cinema Therapy After Dark, reacting to Battlefield Earth. Studio Execs got a page-turn livestream of The Vessel, and Jono got very personal about his journey of embracing his self-worth.

Work picked up speed on The Vessel! We did our first official location scout with Oscar (our Director of Photography), Amy (our Production Designer), and Bay (our producer out of LA). We're right in the thick of casting. Holding local auditions for Utah-based actors, and also going out to some bigger-name type folks in LA and NY. We're a very low-budget movie, so we may not be able to attract those more established names, but if we can't, we've already found some great local people who will surely become big stars, because of this incredible movie! (Right! RIGHT!?!?)

We also did our Head of Department page turn, where we go through the entire movie with all the creative departments, so they can figure out exactly what they need for every single scene in the movie. It's a LOT.

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming next!

The November shoot (the final CT shoot of 2026!) is almost upon us. We're excited to start shooting episodes that our Vessel campaign backers chose for us. In case you missed it, here's an emoji sneak peek of a movie we're prepping: 🦁🧙‍♀️🚪⚔️

Thanksgiving will be a welcome reprieve from this very busy season. If you celebrate, what are your plans? It'd be cool to learn about all of your Thanksgiving traditions!

Alan is head down working on shotlists, storyboards, and lookbooks to communicate his vision to the team. It's an intense time for a director. And by late November, The Vessel will be in production!!

How was your month? What are you looking forward to this month?

It'd be a dream if there was an episode or two (or more, I wouldn't complain 😂) analyzing Andor! I feel like there is a lot to work with there ❤️

To answer the Thanksgiving tradition question: Thanksgiving is my favorite! We always host. We spend all Wednesday deep cleaning our garage and converting it into a dining room. It's always so satisfying; just cozy hard work. Then the next day we get up, watch the parade and have some Cinnabon, and then get to hang out with all my favorite parts of the family. To answer the "what I'm looking forward to this month" question: SO much. This upcoming weekend I'm going to Universal with some friends I haven't seen in a while, I'm going to see the new David Leitch movie the following weekend, I'm going to Epic Universe for my birthday on the weekend after that, and (of course) my favorite holiday is the following Thursday.
