Is What About Bob actually a horror film? It kind of is for therapists...

Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright take a look at the therapist/client relationship in What About Bob, and how Bill Murray's character, while sometimes charming and hilarious, is way out of line, and Richard Dreyfuss (the therapist), while often arrogant and narcissistic, is actually right a lot of the time. They talk about the importance of boundaries, which therapeutic techniques in the film are actually good advice, and which ones are not so good.

I had a client come back to me after he was good physically- I’m a massage therapist- his wife sent him back to me because she was now the one he’d have his vent session for his work and problems. When he saw me he didn’t need to share that with her. So after a couple months of not seeing him, she made him came back lol I don’t care because he would just talk and it’d all go out the door with him when he left. So this is what having a therapist or someone else to talk to allows.
