Reference Images - Week 13 (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone! 🤗
I hope you all had some time to sketch last week! I was only able to draw two of last week's references because I was on a little trip with my sister to Belgium from Wednesday to Sunday! We went to this little city called Gent, and stayed in a very luxurious hotel as a Christmas present from the firm she worked at. I have never experienced such high-class stays, so it was truly an experience! Although it was very nice to have a stay like this for once, the Airbnb we stayed in on another night, made me much happier! It was a little cottage next to the house of the host and there were chickens and a very cute cat! We also had such a beautiful view over a grain field. The host made us breakfast with all kinds of homemade foods. I loved it so much!! 🥰
For this week's references, I decided to follow up on the bird tutorial I posted last week! You can see it here: Robin Tutorial
To practice even more, I added 3 different birds as references, I hope you like it as much as I do! Birds are definitely one of my favourite animals to draw!
Final illustrations week 12
For the lighthouse, I chose to draw the greenery as simple as possible. I just made little scribbles with my green olive and sanguine pencils. To add some branches, I used my dark brown pencil to make some random strokes after I drew all the bushes.
As you can see I left a lot of white space in this illustration: The path to the lighthouse, the air, the windows, and the door. I used my Ecoline pink beige brush pen (374) to add some shadows.
For this island reference, I only used 3 different coloured pencils and 3 colours of brush pens. It became a rough sketch where I focused mostly on the shadows, the direction of the rocks and the direction of the green field. For the house, I left a bit of white space so I only had to draw a little roof and some windows.
If you want to start, but don't know how and what materials to use. You can visit the first blog post about all my favourite go-to materials.
