Good morning everyone! 🌞

I thought it would be fun to share another set of sketchbook exercises for a creative boost. These are great for filling pages in your sketchbook, experimenting with techniques, and just having fun with your drawing practice. Here are 3 new exercises/ideas you can try! 🤩

Materials

A small sketchbook

One colored pencil or grey pencil (you can also use graphite if you'd like!)

Subjects to draw

For more sketchbook ideas, go to the exercise: Sketchbook ideas Part 1

🎨 Silhouette Studies

Pick a subject, like fruit, trees, plants, animals, etc. Fill a page with quick silhouette sketches. Focus only on the shape and outline, not the details. This helps you capture overall form of your subject! You can find subjects in your home or search on Pinterest for Still life pictures!

🎨 Texture Practice

Choose 2-3 textures from everyday life, such as fabric, wood, water, etc. Try to capture these textures in your sketchbook. Experiment with different mark-making techniques, from cross-hatching to stippling. Search for textures in your home or Pinterest!

🎨 Continuous Line Drawing

Pick an object and draw it without lifting your pen or pencil. Let your hand follow the shapes and contours as naturally as possible.

SharingAs always, I’d love to see your results! Post your sketches in our group chat or in the comments below. I can’t wait to see what you create! 🤗

Happy drawing! Celyn 🌸
