Hi everyone!! 🤗

Time for Sketchbook Prompts - Part 3! These are great for filling pages in your sketchbook, experimenting with techniques, and just having fun with your drawing practice while losing perfectionism.

Here are 3 new exercises/ideas you can try! 🤩

🎨 Limited Palette Challenge

Choose only 2 or 3 colors, and create a sketchbook page using just those colors. This can be:

A small illustration

Multiple mini sketches

Studies of the same subject

Limiting your colors helps you focus on values, contrast, and composition instead of details.

🎨 Same Subject, Different Styles

Choose one subject and draw it 3–4 times, each time in a different style. For example:

Realistic

Very simple

A line drawing

Bold shapes or color blocks

This exercise helps you loosen up and explore different ways of drawing the same subject.

🎨 From Simple to Detailed

Start with a very simple version of your subject. Then add layer it in 3–4 steps, gradually adding more detail on the same page. This is a great way to visualize your process and study how complexity builds up.

SharingAs always, I’d love to see your results! Post your sketches in our group chat or in the comments below. I can’t wait to see what you create! 🤗

Happy drawing!

Celyn 🌸
