Hi everyone!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Since last week, I'm back in Groningen again, which I love! Spring is finally starting and the Netherlands is always so beautiful this time of year! Because I wanted to get to know which theme you all wanted for April, I posted a Poll. These were the results:

Drawing little homes (with more insight in how I draw houses) - 30 votes

Capturing spring in your illustrations - 20 votes

How to pick colors that work well together - 14 votes

Because most of you voted for drawing little homes, we will have that as a main theme. But there were also many people who chose capturing spring in your illustrations. So I thought why not putting these two together?

So the theme for this month will be: How To Draw Little Homes (Spring Edition) ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒธ

Here you can find all the content I will post this month

In this post, you can read about:

โœจ What you can expect in April

A little overview of the content I will share with you this month. With the content calendar, you'll have an idea when to expect which reward! All content will be based on drawing little homes (spring edition)!

It depends on your tier, which reward you will get access to, so here is an overview of every tier! (With ofcourse access to polls and our community chat for all tiers!)

Theme of the month

Last month, we focused on drawing Portugal, where I shared my inspiration from my time there. I really loved exploring a specific place and turning those little moments into illustrations ๐Ÿฅฐ

This month, I want to shift the focus a bit more towards process and learning. Weโ€™ll be diving into how I draw little homes, with a spring vibe ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒผ

Throughout the month, Iโ€™ll show you how I approach these illustrations step by step, from the first layer with brush pens to adding details and textures with colored pencils. Iโ€™ll also share tips on how I simplify shapes, build up a scene, and make everything feel cohesive and lively. Spring will play a big role in this theme, so weโ€™ll be working with lots of colors, fresh greens, and small details to bring the illustrations to life.

My goal for this month is not only to show you my process, but also to help you feel more confident when drawing your own little homes and the scene around it.

โœจ March overview

The theme of March was drawing Portugal. I shared lots of content last month. We had 5 weeks of reference images and step-by-step illustration posts, and of course:

An exercise about breaking down Portuguese icons

A printable worksheet where you can learn to draw a lemon

3 video tutorials:

Portugal Bougainvillea

How to draw an orange tree

How to draw Pastel de nata

A blog post - How I find inspiration during my travels

โœจ How am I doing?

To give you a little insight into my work as an illustrator, I will share an update each month on what I've been up to in the previous month. March was a very special month for me, as it was the first month I worked fulltime as an illustrator & I lived in a coliving in Portugal! ๐Ÿ˜

Illustration work updates

I started my new project: A beginner illustration course ๐Ÿค—

I told you a bit about it in last month's post. And I finally got the time to start working on it. I know how many people struggle with the fact that they want to start drawing, but are scared because they are afraid they 'can't draw'. I would love to take this fear away from people and show them how easy it is to create beautiful and colorful illustrations in a similar style as mine with only brush pens & pencils.

So I'm working hard to make that happen and to create a course that anyone who is interested in drawing my style or with brush pens & pencils in general can join!

For now I finished the whole idea for the course and alle the modules I want to include

More updates soon ๐Ÿฅฐ

Personal updates

Here are some photos from March ๐Ÿค—

Lived in a Coliving in the Algarve

Living in a coliving was one of the best decisions I made this year! It was so amazing how many lovely new friends I've met. We did lots of fun activities together, like having dinner, going orange picking, having a beach party, swimming in a way to cold pool!

Being able to work abroad while also enjoying the sun and a beautiful new area, was on my wishlist for so long! And now I did it, I'm incredibly proud of myself ๐Ÿฅฐ

This was the little monthly update! Thank you so much if you've managed to read all the way through, and I wish you a wonderful new month full of creativity and inspiration! ๐Ÿค—โœจ
