Welcome to June! Theme of the month: How to draw cute animals πΏοΈπ¦π₯ (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone!! π
It's June!! This month we'll be focusing on how to draw cute animals! I know this is a theme that many people find a little intimidating, but throughout this month I'll show you how to simplify animals and make their proportions easier to understand.
We'll draw all kinds of cute animals, from little birds to foxes! π¦π¦
And don't forget: making mistakes is an important part of learning and growing as an artist. The more you practice, the more confident you'll become. So don't be afraid to experiment, have fun, and enjoy the process!
I'm excited to share this theme with you this month! π€
β¨ In this post, you can read about
What you can expect in June here on Patreon
An overview of all the May content I shared
How am I doing?: Illustration work updates and personal updates (+ updates about my upcoming beginner course!)
Because I wanted to get to know which theme you all wanted for May, I posted a Poll. It was a close call, but we ended up with the most votes for Botanicals (Including plants & flowers) πΈ. That's why we will go with Cute Animals in June!
So the theme for this month will be: How To Draw Cute AnimalsπΏοΈπ¦π₯
Here you can find all the content I will post this month

Theme of the month
This month, I want to keep the focus on learning and enjoying the process. We'll be diving into how I draw cute animals, and I'll be choosing lots of different animals for you to learn from and draw along with!
Throughout the month, I'll show you my illustration process step by step, from the first sketch and brush pen layer to adding details and textures with colored pencils. I'll also share tips on how I simplify shapes. π₯°
The goal this month is not only to show you my process, but also to help you feel more confident when drawing your own cute animals. I hope you'll discover that they're not as scary as they might seem at first!
β¨ May overview
Last month, we focused on drawing botanicals. And again, I loved seeing all your illustrations and approaches to the references! π₯°
I shared lots of content last month. We had 4 weeks of reference images, step-by-step illustration posts, and of course:
An exercise about loose sketching botanicals
A printable worksheet where you can learn to draw a Pink Hibiscus Flower
3 video tutorials:
Flower Blossom
Bird of paradise Flower
How to draw 4 botanical plants in only 15 minutes
A blog post - Botanical Sketchbook Tour Through the Years

β¨ How am I doing?
To give you a little insight into my work as an illustrator, I will share an update each month on what I've been up to in the previous month. May was a month where I had to make the choice of going full-time with my art business or keep working part-time as a nurse from July again!
Illustration work updates
I started a waitlist for the beginner drawing course! π€
I told you a bit about it in last month's post. I am working hard to create a course that anyone who is interested in drawing my style or drawing with brush pens & pencils in general can join!
For more sneak peeks & early access when the course launches, I created a waitlist!
Here's a little sneak peek of the course π€©
More updates soon π₯°
Personal updates
Here are some photos from April π€
May is always my favorite month of the year! πΈ
This month was a month of enjoying the good weather (finally) and having lots of festivals/parties with friends! π₯°
I did so many fun things this month:
I befriended so many cats, I can't even count it!
It was my 29th birthday (not 30 yet! π), which I celebrated with my family, and later the same week with friends! We sat outside and went to a silent disco bar!
I started drawing more with acrylic markers, which I loved!!
I fell in love with a new sport: Cycling! (And I also started going to the gym!)
Had lots of snackies
Enjoyed the perfect weather at the lake and at my parents house!
Found some inspiration to create a painting again! (something entirely different than I mostly create)
We gave my boyfriend's balcony a little make-over! π€
This was the little monthly update! Thank you so much if you've managed to read all the way through, and I wish you a wonderful new month full of creativity and inspiration! π€β¨
