General update #5 (Patreon)

Hello readers,

The fantasy story I had been teasing, "The Power of Submission", is now out, and I do hope you enjoy it. Not really a lot of "action" in the first part, but the buildup is necessary for where I want to take the story, and I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless. But rest assured the next part will have plenty more lewd scenes, as well as a great big phenomenal artwork by my "personal" artist, Lucien.

Speaking of art brings us to the "bad news" bit of this update. I have had to make a decision regarding this Patreon's future, and the decision will likely either make or break "J-Cal's Femdom Stories" depending on how people take it. Let me explain:

Since I started work on this Patreon in February, I wanted to have a porn-story site that would also feature tailored artwork, the latter as an additional hook to hopefully garner interest. We all know there is far too many options out there when it comes to Patreons and other subscription-based sites that produce this sort of content, and I believed offering art with the stories might help set me apart from the rest. However, what I had hoped could continue to be a cheap "story+art" type of site cannot continue in its present form.

You see, I have come to learn, as indeed many Patreon content-creators likely already could have told me, that what you create is not necessarily worth people's money. Don't get me wrong, a lot of you have been with me since the beginning and have been instrumental in this Patreon even having gotten this far, however I am a bit sick and tired of seeing so many subscribe for $5 only to grab everything they can, and immediately unsubscribe. As I myself am paying to commission artwork for this site, in addition to writing all of the stories, I feel like this arrangement can no longer go on. Sinking all my proceeds into art commissions and not having anything left over due to my goal being to offer everyone the same for only $5 a month clearly isn't working. Therefore, moving forward, the tiers will change.

The new tier layout:

-The $5 tier will only give you access to stories.

-The $10 tier will give you access to stories and artwork, however artwork links will be sent out personally to each member subscribed to this tier, instead of posted in the feed. This is because only members who have been subscribed to this site for more than one month will be eligible to receive the artwork links. This is to combat those who, to my mind, clearly only come here to siphon the artwork and immediately unsubscribe. Any currently subscribed member at the $5 tier who upgrade to this tier will, naturally, receive instant access to the artwork (if you upgrade to this tier you will also receive ticket(s) for the contest that is running until the end of the month, read about that further down).

-I will also add an additional, ridiculous $25 tier for those who want to purchase immediate access to the artwork and nothing else. I don't expect or want anyone to stay subscribed to this tier, but at least it will stop people from purchasing the entire gallery for only $5.

As I explained initially, I see this as going one of two ways. Either enough of you will stay on the $5 tier, content with just the stories, and some will perhaps upgrade to the $10 tier, thereby keeping artwork coming. Or, as I fear, not enough subscribers will either want to stay on the $5 tier and "only" have access to the stories, and not enough will want to go for the $10 tier to warrant the expenses of any new art for future stories. My current folder of eligible artwork art is nearly exhausted, and I will not be commissioning more unless I know I won't lose money on it.

I really didn't want to go down this road, and have put it off for several months already, but as I explained in my very first post when I created this Patreon, the only way I can justify the time it takes to write these stories hinges on my time being compensated, thus enabling me to defend the time I spend on these stories to the household. So, depending on how people feel about this change in tiers, we will see which way the wind blows.
