NC4T Mini-Mod: Greetings (Patreon)

Did you ever want your Sim be able to greet their best friend with a kiss to the cheek? Wanted to let your teenage Sim salute to their strict military parent or fist bump their classmate? Want a Sim to High Five their siblings for pulling off a grand prank? Now you can!

This Mini-Mod adds a few different Greeting-type interactions to your game to be used at your leisure - even if you have already met the Sim! You can find all new interactions in a new "Greetings" Pie Menu.

This Mini-Mod was created as a request for plumbob_taco on our Sims After Dark Discord Server!

I will be accepting requests to add or individualize this mod for my patrons (add or remove specific interactions) - as long as it's doable for me. Just send me a message here or via Discord!

Pack Requirements:

This Mod is BG Compatible but certain animations require specific packs. These animations have been disabled if you don't own the pack and will not show up accoding to which packs you own.

Pack-specific animations are:

High Five and Fist Bump (Get Together)

Respectful Bow (Snowy Escape)

Loving Hug (Parenthood)

Air Kiss Cheek (Jungle Adventure)

Salute (Strangerville)

All other interactions should be BaseGame compatible. Please let me know if you find an interaction that I have missed!

Update April 14, 2024 - A note on optional packages:

As of April 14, 2024 this mod no longer has optional packages and the name of the main package file changed. There are now only two files: "NC4T_Greetings.package" and "NC4T_Greetings.ts4script". Both of them are needed for the mod to run, and going forward these are the only files you should have in your folder.

Please remove ALL old files and ALL optional packages when updating this mod.

Hello! This is exactly what i wanted for my gameplay! Could you please consider also adding non-romantic hand kiss option? Like, not change the existing one but adding another one? It would be a massive lifesaver for historical/cultural gameplays where hand kiss is a common greeting and it doesn't mean flirting so it won't make your s/o jealous. I imagine something like "Courteous Hand Kiss" and an icon from "proper" trait to make it obvious? (and if it's possible, would be great to have only one animation where your sim puts one hand behind their back and takes a step back, not the one where they invade another sim's personal space, because for the romantic one they use random animations)

that's fine, it's still great to even have the option :) so it's not possible to choose one animation from the random? is it somehow one animation file that contains both animations? because if that's the case, i think i might be able to try removing animations that aren't needed

I'll have to look into how it works in the game and will choose the best fitting one. I just cannot create a new animation from scratch, I have to use what the game offers

Have you ever thought about doing a goodbye with some of the interactions however it would act as a goodbye interaction?

are there any personality/skill requirements for the greetings? i have all the required packs and some of the greetings only show up for certain sims, for example; the air cheek kiss is available for one of my sims but when i switch households, it never shows up for any of the sims in that family. im trying to figure out if it's linked to a certain trait or skill like charisma or something, and right now i cant figure it out

My Sims keep getting sentiments from greetings, even if they know each other very well. I tried to teach an infant to wave, so I used your greetings for her parents to greet each other while she was watching. Well, it didn't go too well. They hated each other

Hi! Can you explain more what you mean by this and which Greeting(s) you're using?

My parent sims and infant sim were talking, and I made mum and dad do a "wave" greeting to each other and got the infant to watch. Every time parents waved at each other, they would get the sentiments Sims get when they first meet a new Sim.

Hello NeedCoffee4That! I noticed that the Brazilian Portuguese translation for this mod was outdated, so I took the initiative to update it to the latest version. Would it be possible to attach the translation along with the mod? Please make interactions available for toddlers

Hey there, I can look into what's possible for toddlers, but it may just not work. If an animation hasn't been made to work with toddlers, it will cause weird stretching issues with the Sims to accommodate for the height difference (the toddler would be stretched to have the size of an adult Sim while running the interaction), so I cannot promise anything.
