Introduce your players to a mysterious fortuneteller, a sinister prophecy...and a family of con artists.

This is a small roleplay-focused encounter for a traveling party, suitable for players at any level. I've included a battle map, but it's unlikely that full combat will occur. The encounter focuses less on action and more on an interesting twist and the chance for players to make some moral choices.

Enjoy!

75% chance that my party tries to kill everyone. 🫠

I remember you talking about this like a year ago and I ran it as an intro to a one shot where they eventually had to fight a real demon. Making her both a scam artist and an actual prophet

Awesome encounter, might modify it for an urban encounter for the Valwind Heights campaign I recently started running.

Once again, I appreciate the creativity : you always bring a new type of encounter. I love avoiding combat and moral dilemmas in D&D. On that note, I recommend the "Creative Campaigning" book. You'll love it. AD&D 2e. Take a look the Renaissance Kobolds. Warm regards, Vinnie
