Spooky season is here! As you probably know, I'm a big fan of horror-themed D&D games. When it gets around to this time of year, as the nights get longer and Halloween approaches, I start trying to think of new and inventive ways to terrify my players.

In this Patreon video, we're discussing four practical tips for running a genuinely creepy game of D&D.

Enjoy!

Great advice, I used your mother sickle encounter last year, this year I'm looking to include maybe the last remnants of the coven, a night hag and sea hag. Just so happens my players are currently sailing (using your riftwater sailing system too btw) so a good opportunity. Any ideas greatly appreciated haha

My favorite tip? Cutting the spooky music, I never thought about that, but it's completely true! Just hearing the sounds of the world around you can be really creepy! Adding this all to my notes! 🥰

7:15 That is creepy. I also like using a child's laughter or a crying woman without any apparent source for it.
