While working on the latest installment of "The Darkest Moments in TV History," I stumbled across this case and decided it warranted a full-length video. To me, this is probably the most shocking case I've ever explored in the world of television. And I was surprised that it hasn't been discussed much on YouTube yet.

Also, I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone here for helping the channel reach 2 million subscribers! That number is insane to me, and I could not be more grateful for all the support you have given me. I could not have done it without you guys! This Patreon page has funded almost all of the gear, equipment, and software I use on the channel.

Eloá Pimentel: The Darkest Moment in TV History

In October of 2008, a group of friends were kidnapped and held hostage in an apartment unit in São Paulo, Brazil. What transpired next would go on to become one of the most prolonged and shocking incidents ever captured on live television. This is the Eloá Pimentel hostage incident. Or, as it’s since come to be known, the darkest moment in television history.
