I wouldn't call this a cliffhanger. In literature a chapter should encompass something and flow into the next one.

Zomg so good! I do have a question about Umbra though. Should we assume the undergrowth is so massive that scanning it all would beyond Umbra’s godlike powers? He has scanned ruins and areas before and that was before several level ups from Ast’s growth. I know it was mentioned that communication through Umbra would be ok so long as there weren’t any seals to block him but so far the only thing to truly stop him was the godlike powers of the downward spire. Are these terrestrial seals strong enough to block him too?
