“Alright. We are here,” Asterios said as they stood in front of an emerald stone slab that was supposed to slide up and reveal the chamber. “Let’s be quick before someone walks in on us. How many inside?” Pinkish mist floated up from the ground and formed a feminine figure. “Seven individuals spread throughout the chamber,” Althea replied with a soft smile, already finished scouting. “One of them doesn’t look like noctis. His skin is pale. He seems to rank higher than the others.” I’m pretty sure Althea doesn’t turn to mist. Also nice way to avoid a cliffhanger for once. Although was not ironically via hanging.

Yeah, I gotta agree, that was a LITTLE anti-climatic. But, only because the group wasn't stupid about how they went about infiltrating the cults main facility and how complacent the cult had become. Especially after having a fair number of other facilities found and raided. Actually, the cult acted more than complacent, they acted stupid too.

I kind of get the anti-climactic ending however. It's like in a D&D campaign where the party ACTUALLY does adequate preparations and planning. Things go off without a hitch, especially when the DM rolls a few nat ones (the noctis sleeping, for example. XD). The simple fact of the matter is that these are common elves. Asterios and his girls are simply that much above and beyond them, and Althea, being a lesser dragon, but a dragon none-the-less, is probably not that far behind them in terms of power. Civienne? She's been trained from a very young age to be who she is. Sure, the Elder had power too, but also a very kryptonite-like weakness. I'm honestly more surprised that the Elder's gem was capable of deflecting Ast's sword. Either way, this cult's general membership really isn't anything more than a speedbump to this group now. Using the D&D reference again? It's like encountering the same group that challenged you back when you were level 5, but now you're level 20. XD

“His body went riding, and he flopped forward like a plank“ Did you mean rigid? As always an excellent chappy! I really like how you show how much they’ve grown by easily handling these mere mortals lol. Kinda makes me anxious about what Ast and the girls will be up against soon.
